Yeah I just read a tip. There seems to be a problem with the wave amp board, I will send you the engineering note. Sometimes though that encoder needs replaced and cleaning is not the total fix. The encoder may need replaced, but I found this also.

I just received this, this morning.

Failed Wave Amp
Solution: Fuzzy page continious. - thumbsup.gif Fixed! thumbsdn.gif Did not fix. Historically blurry print was caused by oil on the drum encoder wheel. This can be caused by the wave amp board. A cracked capacitor on the board causes the wave amp to produce a malformed amplified wave signal to the printhead. This in turn causes the printhead to eject ink at the wrong times, so the prints look blurry.

You can generally distinguish a wave amp problem from an oily drum encoder. The wave amp problem will usually be an infant failure. The printer will start producing blurry prints soon after it is installed and running. With a failed wave amp all prints will be blurry with no improvement. The drum encoder, on the other hand, may produce good prints and then bad prints and then good prints. Blurriness changes depending on how the oil is interfering with the encoder.

My Canon IPF 5100 printer black ink is really fuzzy, I have to prit dark grey as I can't read the black. I have cleaned the heads and done nozzle checks, what else could it be?

If prints are coming out fuzzy this is likely to be an alignment issue. I would recommend doing some alignment tests from your printer/printer software.

The printer suddenly started printing fuzzy text. I think it is out of alignment but when I try to print the alignment page, it comes out fuzzy too. Is there another way to align the printer and take care...

There are several reasons why the HP All-in-One may fail to align the cartridges. The most common reason is an ink cartridge that has one of the following problems:
  • One of the ink cartridges is low or out of ink. Black and all three colors must be available.
  • The paper has already been printed on or is colored paper.
  • Protective tape on a new ink cartridge has not been removed.
  • Contacts on the ink cartridge are not meeting the contacts in the carriage correctly.
  • Cartridge is remanufactured or refilled. Refilled or remanufactured ink cartridges may have been damaged during the refilling process or have clogged ink nozzles.
  • The ink cartridge is defective

HP4345 MFP printer and the print quality is fuzzy. I put in a new toner cartridge and that didn't work and i also created a cleaning page and that didn't help. what next? just had the tech out here last...

Fuzzy print is mostly related to 3 items in your printer. 1 the toner cart. 2 fuser. 3 transfer roller. A fuser replacement is a normal fix for this problem. Check your PM kit status by printing a supplies status page. A PM kit will have a fuser, transfer roller and feed rollers. If the PM level is low ,order and replace kit. If not you may want to get a new fuser

Hi, try putting a little 3 in 1 light oil on the bar thgat the print head runs on, the 'bale bar' as it is called can get dry and jam, only put a little oin in 6 or 7 places otherwise, you may end up with oil in the parer drive mechanism.

Scan views fine; prints fuzzy

Try to change the dpi to the maximum, maybe 600 dpi. This will make the picture more defined.

1 get 3 fuzzy lines on page

If you're getting frequent paper jams, it's usually caused by the feeder motor assembly failing. When the paper is pulled through the printer, if the assembly is failing, it causes the paper to jam and can effect how things are printed. (Sometimes it will go to fast and things will get blurred, sometimes it'll go to slow and text overlaps)

If that sounds like the problem, it's cheaper to replace the printer (can be bought for $50) the it is to repair it ($25 for the motor, $45 for labor to install the motor)

Printing fuzzy / bleed text with fuser saying needs changing soon!

Hi the blurring maybe down to the machine needing a color registration. Press the menu button then press either the up or down arrow to Maintenance press enter or # the using the up down keys again select color registration enter or # then print registration sheet once printed select M Y C or B and input the number that is on the printed sheet that corresponds to the straightest line. Once you have done this exit and try printing.

If that doesn't work then within the driver on the computer under printers and faxes right hand click on the printer select properties. Within properties you will be able to change the graphic mode please try this.

The fuser unit will need changing as they only have a life span there are no benefits to resetting as you will need to change it anyway. If you do not change the fuser then it will break leaving you with a bigger problem.

I do hope the above works for you.
Thanks J

Fuzzy Pages

In your troubleshootine menu, I think it is, on the screen, scroll until you find fix imaging problems, or something like that.
There is one for removing streaks and the other for removing smudges.
I would suggest running both and that should resolve your issue.
I doubt your maintence kit is bad, but I would pull it out and check to see if it is extremelty dirty.
Try those two procedures first.
There will be instructions on your User Guide CD on how to run those.
