Question about Samsung Televison & Video

Open Question

We recently bought a Samsung LED TV (model UB40B7000WW) but don't have access to technical support. Now we want to record TV programs but the Anynet mode doesn't seem to indicate recording ability. Can this model record on its own or do we need to have an external device? Thanks in advance for your help. Don Schofield

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: Accessing External Inputs Settings

you have to use the remote control for the tv not the dvr.
the dvr control likely cannot control the tv inputs programming unless you can program the correct code. and most new lcd panels don't have the correct codes for existing remotes
access using ext on the tv remote.
you may have to go into the menu and tell the tv what the ext is set to ie.. a channel or a input.

SOURCE: samsung s42sd-yd01 plasma television wont power up

hI MY NAME IS COL, COLINDAWSON@ROCKETMAIL.COM, I have the same TV with the same problem. It has something to do with a 'dew' sensor inside that trips it out when it senses moisture. It seems after a while the sensor gets carried away and cuts the unit out as it is with your TV. We found if you blow a hot hair dryer through the vents at the back for a few minutes, it will eventually come back on. Once the TV is warm the problem stops. I dont know exactly where the sensor is, and if you find out id love to know. Hope this is of some help. Also im trying to find a replacement remote for the same TV as mine is missing.

IT LOOKS LIKE WE ALL MAY ASWELL STEER CLEAR OF SAMSUNG AS THEY ARE **** BRANDS YOU NEVER HEAR OF THEIR BETTER BRANDS SONY GOING WRONG AS THEY WOULD BE IN IT UP TO THE NECKS WITH INSURANCE CLAIMS ASWITH PANASONIC , SAMSUNG ARE YOUR CHEAP WASHING MACHINE THAT ISNT WORTH A REPAIR ,IT ENDS IN RECYCLING
THATS WHY THEIR ARE LOADS OF MODELS OF THEM, THEY ARE NOT WORTH 300-500 QUID YOU MAY AS WELL PAY MORE AND INSURE IT FOR
A FIVE YEAR WASHING MACHINE GUARANTEE BECAUSE IF A LCD OR PLASMA DOESNT LAST FIVE YEARS ITS TIME GET OUT AND ABOUT MORE
INSTEAD OF SITTING ON OUR ARSES, LIFE EXPECTANCY YOUR AVERAGE WASHING MACHINE ,FRIDGE,COOKER, HOOVER,CAR ETC IS 5YEARS SO WHY DOES THE MODERN TVS DONT LIVE AS LONG REASON PROFITS.
GAZ SORRY FOR THE BOREDOM.

I have a PS42B541 plasma TV and a 1080P9 DVD player, but the HDMI interface is not working at all. The DVD player is sending the video signal to the TV, but not the audio signal. Also Anynet is not working...

This is a compatibility problem between this model of samsung dvd player and samsung B model tvs. the only solution to fix this problem is disabling anynet option on samsung B model tvs.

Samsung PN58b530 tv and harmony 550. When setup have all devices set except when the tv turns on it stays on one hdmi setup then jumps to another that was not programmed.

Samsung TV's have Anynet automatic input switching. This severely conflicts with the Harmony Remote as they both do the same jobs; Switch inputs automatically. We would like for you to disable this feature on your Samsung TV using your original remote, so the Harmony Remote will work properly.

Disable Samsung Anynet+

1. Press your Tools Button.
2. Scroll down to Anynet and press your Select Button.
3. Once on the Anynet screen, please press your Left/Right Button(s) to select the Off Setting on the Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC)
4. Scroll down to the Auto Turn Off and select No.

Once this is completed, please turn off your TV and all device and power them back on using the Harmony Remote.

I just bought a Samsung BD P1590 Blue ray Disc Player. Where do I get my activation code for Net Flix? I am a paid member.

if you have the netflix logo on the player then connect a cat5 cable from your router to the back of your player to hook it to the internet. It will download an update with your approval if its a success then your TV connect to anynet which will load then display if you would like to search youtube, anynet, netflix, or blockbuster. Select netflix and it will go through a series of legal stuff. press next, next, next and then it will give you a code screen displayed on the tv. Go to your computer and access your netflix account and you should see the tab labeled " instantly to your tv" Follow the instructions and it will give you a code which you will then have to enter on your tv. If you see movies displayed then you did it right and its connected. The quality depends on your network connection. Me, I have basic and its ok

Try connecting your DVD recorder directly to the source (satellite/cable box) and then to the TV.
