Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I have a Xerox copier Work Centre XE60 that displays E7 error code. I have tried two recommended solutions from Xerox's online support site - the 14 and one where I reinserted the shipping screw and then removed it. I have tried these procedures numerous times and still no luck. History of machine: I bought it from a guy and it made a copy at his house. I took it home to my house and made it made a copy. It then sat for one year in a spare bedroom when I then took it to my classroom where it is now showing this code. I transported it both times without the shipping screw because I didn't know about it. Thanks for your help.

E7-14 ASIC communication error (try clearing by turning off & on… otherwise Main PWB is bad)

- To enter diagnostics: Turn on the power and within 4 seconds press the following sequence: ‘Clear’, ‘Exposure Mode’, ‘Clear’, ‘Exposure Mode’ (Exposure Mode is the button on the far left). The console will go completely blank.
- To enter a code: Select the first part of the code using the copy quantity buttons, followed by the ‘Print’ button, then the second part of the code followed by the ‘Print’ button again.
- To exit diagnostics: Press ‘Clear’ repeatedly or turn the power off.

* To Reset the Drum Count: Open the front door. Then hold down the Copy Contrast Key while closing the front door… continue to hold the ‘Copy Contrast’ button for at least 3 seconds until the 3 Copy Contrast indicators blink and the console comes to ready. The drum count is reset to zero and the machine will run another 18,000 copies before calling J2 again.

**To clear a fuser code:(14) Enter diagnostics, select ‘14’ followed by ‘Print’… exit diagnostics.

***To Clear a U2 code:(16) Enter diagnostics, select ‘16’ followed by ‘Print’… exit diagnostics.
To read Copy Count: Press & hold the ‘Clear’ key… the display will flash the total copy count 2 digits at a time.

Keep in mind that, if this dont work its possible that there have a bad Main PWB.

Hope helps.

Hi, I have a Work Centre XE60 that displays an E7 error code. I have reinserted the shipping screw and removed it, but that didn't clear the code. I have also tried the fix #14 from Serox's online...

In reading your question I thought I wrote it! I am having the same problem with my printer and it, too, happened after I moved it without the shipping screw. Have you been able to fix yours? Thanks, CC

The display screen reads "L3"

that is related to the scanner. Lamp, or cable, and to be honest, it would be much less problem to replace the printer. That is a very hard machine to service and that is a difficult problem and can be very expensive to repair.

H4 is a power failure code. To reset the error please press in the following order: CLR - AUTO - CLR - AUTO (this puts the unit in tech mode). Enter 14 (as if asking for 14 copies) Press "PRINT" Your unit should reset itself and start working.
