this is NOT a Barcode SCANNER Problem - it's a START-UP 'Blue Screen' problem - I don't know WHY Fixya is calling it a blue screen problem ???

The problem with the E-Machines N214 Notebook - is that it has NO CD Drive (like most Notebook computers) - but has an internal RESET to factory DEFAULT mode - but i can't get to System Restore w/o a Start Up menu ???

Multiple causes could generate that. The most obvious one is that the Windows was corrupted. Try to boot in the BIOS. If you can't then there's a hardware failure and to identify it you need to swap components - if you don't have replacement ones then take it to a shop, there's nothing more you can do.

In your laptop the Recovery is a hidden partition on your hard disk. But if your hardware is faulty you will not be able to access it. As i said try to boot in the BIOS and see from there.

What type of bird stand should I get for my parrot?

The physical and mental stimulation is extremely important for parrots, so get a bird stand with climbing room, toy hooks and food bowls. As your bird climbs the branches, searches for treats and plays with toys, he will be active and experience the sense of being part of a flock.

I installed windows 7 on my ( D:) I didn't like it

Hello, That black screen is actually called a 'boot loader' It gives you the options for what you would like your computer to boot in. To remove it, go into the operating system you would like to permanently use, being xp, vista, or win7 and download and install this program. It is called Easy BCD.

http://neosmart.net/download.php?id=1

The program is pretty straight forward to use, you just remove the entry for windows 7 and you are right to go. If you are having trouble, look on youtube for some tutorials. Here is a link to the search i did.

Hope this helps,

Ok.. I am no tech expert so I may need some help & expert advice on this one. I bought (rather received a gift) around 2 months back - a Sony VAIO E series VPCEA13EN. All was fine until two days back...

To get safe mode and depending on the machine you need to press and hold f6 or f8 just after the intial boot screen shows. This will allow you to get to safe mode selection on your pc.

Here are some discrete steps you shall also take besides fixing your Windows 7 registry which is inevitable for safer and stable computing:
* Conduct an antivirus and antimalware scan. Fixing for malwares after a registry scan gives an extra protection to the PC and saves PCs from lots of dangerous infections.
* Start Windows 7 in safe mode and restore your PC/system to the previous date after which you received the Windows 7 updates. It is believed that some updates may be behind these screen issues in Windows 7.
* Adjust your display settings since the wrong settings may also cause the Windows 7 black screen also called the blank screen. You can do this by starting Windows in safe mode.

Laptop is working fine until the screen goes black

The problem of black screen can also happen in other versions of the Windows. However, the symptoms and effects of the problems in all operating systems are almost same. For instance, when a user starts his Windows, everything goes fine. But when he logs into it there awaits a black screen instead of the normal desktop layout. An average computer user finds it very disturbing and has no clue how to fix Windows 7.
However, the best way to find a solution to this problem is to fix the registry errors in your computer which become the cause of all major Windows errors and crashes. The registry in Windows 7 is a very important component of the entire operating system and it stores information about the Windows settings. If these settings are not adjusted properly then there start to appear strange computer problems such as Windows 7 black screen.

Sky not working properly on my samsung lcd tv

This is likely to be caused by the changing of the screen mode between ads and or programs, by your TV.

If so, changing the Sky output to 16:9 will fix it.

Press [Services]

Select option 4 - System Setup

Select option 1 - Picture Settings

Change "Location 1" TV setting to 16:9 (This will make the Sky box handle any changes and give you a permanent widescreen output to your TV. This is the recommended setting for widescreen TVs, but sadly, few Sky installers bother to do it.

You can also change "Location 2" if you have a second widescreen TV connected in another room.

Whilst in this menu change the Video Output to RGB from PAL (If not set already) RGB gives a much more stable picture (particularly on the menu system)

Go to Save new settings and press [Select]

Exit the menu system, and you problem should be solved.

Try differential focus That is point to something near the distance you want- half depress the button -turn to subject complete the press down Bear in mind that if the subject is really close to the view finder is not looking where the focus window is-Parallax- learn to shift you frame slightly to allow for this.
