Question about Jenn-Air JGW8130A Electric Single Oven

2 Answers

Initial problems began upon completion of a cleaning cycle. The oven door would not unlock & interior fan would continuously run. After unplugging oven for 12 hours it finally un-locked after plugging it back in. Error message during initial problem was F2 with an accompanying "beeping" noise. The next problem after this is now the oven (on Bake or Broil) will "start" to pre-heat but after a minute will shut-down and start flashing F5 with an accompanying "beeping" noise. Oven not working!! Help!!

Someone else had this problem, and it turned out to be the high limit switch (a relay) that had burned out. Here is what they said, quoted from kitchen.manualsonline.com:

Our oven was doing the same thingwe tried flipping the breaker but it didn't help. After that we unbolted the whole unit from the cupboards, pulled it out and removed the panels. the problem is a relay switch on the back of the oven which keeps it from overheating, this was burnt out. We got the part from a local appliance repair place for $14.00 and replaced it ourselves.

I have to run an errand now, but will try to get back with a diagram and parts list for your oven.
For now, hope this helps.

Oven door is locked with food in it how to unlock asap

Hi , Anon !
My name is Ashlynn .
If your oven is locked , here's some ways you can unlock it :
  • 1 Look for a manual lever to unlock the oven. If there is one, it will probably swing back and forth horizontally, just below the upper edge of the oven door.
  • 2 Swing the locking lever, if one is present, all the way to the left. This should unlock the oven. If there is no manual lever to unlock the oven, it may be unlocked using push-button controls.
  • 3 Check to see if the oven is in a self-cleaning cycle, or has just completed a self-cleaning cycle. If so, the door will unlock automatically once the oven has finished the cleaning cycle and cooled completely, which may take several hours. You cannot unlock the oven before it has cooled.
  • 4 Unlock the "Clean/Off" button. Depending on the brand and model of your oven, the button may display both of these designations or just one. If your oven door is locked, but the oven is not warm and is not in a cleaning cycle, unlock it by pressing and holding the "Clean/Off" button.

But it seems you have food inside so ,
Press cancel on the cooking cycle , and let it cool to room temperature , and then try to open your oven .

After baking at 425 degrees, ew30mc65js2 will not shut off - fan continues to run and some heat, although lower, continues after 1.5 hours

Hi - if you still have your user manual I think you will find that oven have a time delay designed into the electronics for cool down purposes after the cycles completed. If it does shutdown after say 1.5hrs, it may seem a bit long but its actually doing what its designed to do, it should not be heating but circulating the hot air thru the oven.

We use to have a similar problem with our F & P BI600 wall oven - what we've done is have the door slightly ajar to quicken the cool down process until one day the fan ran continously - then I had it disconnected.

I hope this may help with your situation, if its running continously then its best to disconnect the cool down fan, the bake fan is normally on a separate circuit and not affected.

When baking my oven door is not locked is it supposed to be?and if so how do we lock it.

The locking of the oven door is a safety feature used only during automatic self cleaning cycle, this is because temperatures during the self clean cycle can reach upwards of 600+ degrees creating a dangerous situation if the door was opened, it will remain locked after the self cleaning cycle is complete until the oven interior temperature is below 100 degrees. So no the door is not normally locked during the bake cycle. Good luck !

Whirlpool RF367LXS Ceramic Glass Range not working

Almost every time I run the SELF CLEAN cycle on my Whirlpool Self Cleaning range, it fails to function after completing the self clean cycle, even though it completes the cycle of cleaning and unlocks the door. What I do to solve the problem, I power off the BREAKER for the range at the main electrical panel in the house and wait 30 seconds, then power on....and the whole system works just fine until the next time I clean it. This has been a problem from the beginning. My theory is that the electronics get heated up and, like a computer, the system stalls out and needs a complete hard reboot. Good luck!

GE: JTP56 F2 Door Locked displayed

I have the the same problem as discribed above. Does you oven fan go on for a long time after you use your oven during regular baking. Mine seems to stay on for 45 minutes after I bake anything. Can this be all tied together with the f2 problem? I am wondering if it is not just a fan circulation problem?
