1. Attach a spool of thread to the machine with the upper spool pin and spring. When you pull on the thread, it should unwind from the spool counterclockwise. Pull the thread from the spool, through Thread Guide 1. Next, slide it between the two discs of the thread tension dial.
2. Pull the thread through the guides in this order. down through Thread Guide 2, down through the Thread-pulling bar, to the left through Thread Guide 3 and down through Thread Guide 4.
3. Raise the needle using the Handwheel and bring the thread through the eye of the Needle from left to right.

As you go right to left across the top of the machine is the threading pattern and then down through the thread pulling bar ( it moves back and forth across the front of the machine as it runs) and then down the arm to the needle. Use a thread bobbin on the spool pin at the begging of the threading process. This machine does not use spools of thread.

Hope this helps.
Also the machen was made for Mattel You can order parts on the link below. http://service.mattel.com/us/ContactUs.aspx Good Luck

How to thread the bobbin of a singer 90s

First make sure that the needle is fully up (use the hand-wheel). Move the bobbin cover release button to the right and lift the bobbin cover out of the way. Remove the current bobbin, if needed. Hold the new, full bobbin so that the thread comes off the bobbin counter-clockwise when you pull the thread. Place the bobbin into the bobbin case. Pull the thread through the slot near the bottom of the case and to the left. Place a finger on top of the bobbin. Next bring the thread left further towards the back of the bobbin case until it stops in the second slot (near the 8 o'clock position if you compare the position to a 12-hour analog clock). Pull the thread back through the groove in the cover plate until it is cut by the thread cutter at the top left of the cover plate. (The thread will turn a "corner" to the cutter.) Replace the bobbin cover.

Singer has the manual for most of their sewing machines here: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals . The direct link to the manual for the 90S is http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/26e7243ab52aaed42904377fea7b090541eb0c9b.pdf . See pages 16-17 (page 18 in the PDF for the English description) and pictures that may be better than the verbal description.

I hope this helps.

Thread bunches up into a knotted mess on bottom. Bobbin doesn't sit flat inside the bobbin case but spins with a tilt, lower on the left and higher on the right. Bobbin touches plastic cover plate.

Usually, thread bunching under the fabric is an upper tension issue. Be sure to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the upper thread.

With the bobbin case operating at a tilt, there is something mechanically wrong with the machine. It may be best to take it for service.

How to thread the bobbin on a singer electronic 4562?

Do you need to wind the bobbin? If you just need put in the bobbin, make sure that the needle is in the highest position and that the presser foot is up. Slide open the cover by moving it towards you. Pull about 4" of thread from the bobbin and hold the bobbin such that the thread is coming off in a counter-clockwise direction. Put the bobbin into the bobbin case and secure the thread in the notch near the center bottom of the bobbin case. Next guide the thread into the notch to the left (near 7 on an analog clock). Hold onto the thread and slide the cover closed. To bring up the thread, make sure that the needle is threaded as well. Turn the hand wheel slowly towards you while you hold the needle thread with your left hand. Turn the wheel until the needle comes back out of the needle plate. Pull gently on the needle thread. You should see a loop of thread around the needle thread. Gently untangle this loop until you get to the end of the bobbin thread. Pull the needle thread through the opening on the left side of the presser foot. Then pull both threads to the back of the machine.

Most Singer sewing machines are available here: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals . The direct link to the manual for the 4562 is http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/435_5_8_10_16_22_dial.pdf . The details and images for winding the bobbin is on page 13. Inserting the bobbin and raising the bobbin thread is on pages 15-16.

I hope this helps.

Singer sewing machine will not grab bobbin thread

It could be a timing issue. Could be a tension issue. But it may also just be lint under the plate and feed dogs not allowing the thread to fully rotate around the bobbin case. If you haven't already, I would take the plate off, take the bobbin case pieces out, and clean thoroughly with a lint brush. Take the side cover off the top of the machine and check the thread path for lint or broken thread. If you have already cleaned it thouroughly and it still won't pick-up, have a repairman take a look at it.

How to thread the bobbin

Are you trying to thread the bobbin for winding or for sewing?

For sewing, make sure the needle is fully up and then release the bobbin cover plate. Insert the bobbin so that the bobbin rotates counter-clockwise. Pull the thread through the slot at the center-front of the bobbin case. Hold down the bobbin with a finger then bring the thread to the left and through the slot on that side. You should here a clicking sound when you pull on the thread. Leave 6" of thread free and replace the cover plate. Refer to the manual (page 12) for pictures.

Many Singer sewing machine manuals are available for sale or download here: http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals . The direct link to the manual for the 2662 is here: http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/429_2662_efs.pdf . See page 11 and 12.

If the bobbin thread isn't feeding, clean the hook and surrounding area. Then with the presser foot down, retry. If you aren't hearing the clicking sound when the thread is pulled, you may need the bobbin tension adjusted. There is a small set screw for the adjustment but it's really easy to damage the threads. If you still have a problem, the bobbin case or shuttle race may need to be replaced (See http://parts.singerco.com/CPpartCharts/2_2999/2662.pdf for the parts breakdown).

I hope this helps.

My machine is not picking up the stitches. I have rethreaded, checked needle and tension.

try these suggestions
Not picking up thread can be several issues
1.bobbin is miss wound
2. bobbin case isn't snapped in properly
3. you're using the wrong type bobbin
4. needle is bent or burred
5. check bobbin area for lint & loose threads
6. little oil--check operation manual for this
7.machine is out of time --done by service tech
8.check automatic thread cutter to see if it’s bent
but most of the time the issue is once again mis-threading or the thread coming off take up lever
sewing machine needles put in incorrectly
Check & make sure needle is in the needle holder correctly.
Check your manual for threading diagram
check bobbin area including case for lint & loose threads
Take the needle plate off & clean under neath it ( if your machine has screws that hold the needle plate on be careful NOT TO DAMAGE THE SCREWS) because a damaged screw that has a burr on it can pull fabric
Each time you start to sew
1.make sure there’s 2 to 3 inches of top thread when you put the needle down for the bobbin thread
2.make sure there is a 2 to 3 inch of bobbin thread so the top thread can pick it up
3.Pull the tail of the top and bobbin thread behind the presser foot
hope these help--please rate this with the thumbs in the upper right hand corner-thank you

The machine is a new, never been used before brother 1520 mechanical sewing machine. The top thread keeps jaming up around the bobbin and it appears to me that the thread is catching on the metal plate on...

Driver?

Refer to the manual for threading and bobbin winding.

Make sure the bobbin is properly installed.

Graphics are always good to have, but sometimes important steps can be missed. Be sure to read the instructions.

Open the manual and lay it next to the machine and follow every step of every feature. No matter how experienced, it is important to learn the ins and outs of every machine you intend to use.

If the problem continues, return the machine.

When you slide the throat plate cover back into place, there may be a little lever the plate is suppose to move back into place. Try to reset the cover to see if it will catch.

Recheck the manual to see if there is another function that should be reset.

Make sure the bobbin is not over wound.
