Question about Dell Inspiron 2650 Notebook
Got 2 new cords still no lights or power. Tried taking out battery and just used cord, but still nothing. Also tried taking bat off and power cord, pushing power on and off to get rid of any extra power in laptop. still nothing
no sign of life. last power cord was chewed threw by cat hope that didnt kill mother board or cpu.
First you need to test your adapter first not the power cord.Check that your adapter can give out according to the adapter spec..maybe 16-19ou V.If it does and still you laptop don't turn on then you have motherboard problem.

Tips for a great answer:
Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the jack and see if
the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have to take the laptop
apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto the motherboard, so you
will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.
