Re: Getting error when trying to scan am image
If you are using a Windows/PC, open the Control Panel, then the System folder, then click on the Hardware tab, then Device Driver.
Check the resulting list for items that show a red 'X' indicating that Windows has detected a problem.
If you find one that is related to your F380, highlight and right-click on it and choose 'Uninstall.'
Leaving your printer on, power down the PC and/or restart it.
Windows should find a 'new device' and put the correct drivers in place.
This MAY (nothing certain) correct your problem.

If you continue to get this kind of error after restarting the computer, you may need to update the scanner's device drivers or reinstall the included software. You should also make sure only one program or application is attempting to use the scanner by closing all but the one program you are trying use with the scanner. One last note - always either let the program you are scanning to operate the scanner or let the scanner invoke its default application by pressing the scan, fax or copy buttons on the scanner. Do not for instance try and scan an image into a running program that initiates the scanning process itself while also invoking a scan from the scanner's control panel. The two operations will conflict.
Solution one: Make sure the hardware is functioning correctly(try to make a copy)
Solution two: Restart both the All-in-One and the computer 3. Solution three: Check if the correct scanning device is selected
as default under HP Software 4. Solution four: Download and run the Scan Diagnostic utility(FROM HP.COM) 5. Solution five : Check that the Digital Imaging Monitor is running 6. Solution five :Try scanning without HP Imaging software 7.Solution six :Try scanning without HP Imaging software
Please do the following
1. Go to Control Pannel then sellect Add/Remove Programs and uninstall all HP Software.
2. Disconnect all Prinetrs
3. Go to Control Pannel then sellect Printers and Faxes make sure there is no Printers in there if there is delete them
4. Install Psc 2210 software and follow instructions on when to connect printer.
it's either a corrupted scanning program or a corrupted scanning system file. I would suggest that you try to uninstall then reinstall the scanning program that you're using or maybe just scan using resident programs like microsoft paint for windows systems or image capture for mac systems. If it works on these resident programs (PAINT and IMAGE CAPTURE) then we know that the software that came with your unit may be corrupted. Uninstall it including its registry entries then reinstall it (just the scan program).
