Ice and water wont dispense dss25m

If I push a glass in to get ice or water all lights go out and you get nothing.
Called repairman and his solution was to put on whole new door for $600. Seems to me that this indicates a bad connection. It started acting up and you had to shove the glass in several times to get it to work then a few days later nothing. Just wondering if any of you have an idea on were to look for the bad connection

    GE Arctica/Profile...side-by-side....

Push for Water or Ice, lights go out on panel...then nothing happens.

    Is this a cicuitboard problem?

    best,

P.S. How tough is it to install the new board?

Yeah, it could be the main board, but first, I would check the connection below the freezer door by the water line going to the dispenser. but you will need a torque head screw driver or philip to remove the kick plate. Because that little wire connect usually rusted then cut then power from going the dispenser board

I have a similar problem however the water works
and tyhe ice does not. However, if I hold a glass for
water and wait for the light to get bright, then push the
button for ice without letting go of the
glass, IT MAY DISPENSE ICE
It seems to be a connection GROUND? problem.
What to check?

Replacement ice maker dispenses ice that has cloudy residue as ice melts

This is a physics issue due to the minerals that are present in your water. When the water is let into the ice maker, the minerals are dissolved in the solution, when the water freezes the molecules are brought closer together and the minerals are squeezed out. When the ice melts the minerals drop down to the bottom of the glass because they are cold and out of solution. The process is called precipitation of solids. The common mineral are lime, calcium, fluoride and many other organic substances. It wont hurt you it just looks bad.

The ice maker works fine but we can no longer dispense ice from the door. No sound, nothing. Water dispenser works fine though.

There is a micro switch behind the panel above the dispenser lever. It's the switch that the leaver presses on when you push a glass into it to fill with water. Pop the panel off and you will see the little black switch I'm refering to.

When you press the ice dispenser no ice

the switch you push activates a couple of things. One is a solenoid that opens the door the other is a relay that moves the ice to the crusher.

Since you aren't hearing any sound....and are not getting any ice, I would suspect the switch is bad.....

But before you start taking things apart....try pushing it with your finger rather than a glass.

Check for the length of travel? can you feel or hear a switch click?

Kitchenaid model ksrs25ilss02 water filter

Are you saying water is dripping out the ice dispenser or the water dispenser, a water filter would have nothing to do with this, it only filters water, it does not pump water nor does it shut it off. If water
is dripping from the ice dispenser, it is because the rubber gasket
is bad on the flap that seals after ice is dispensed. If water is dripping
from the water dispenser, it is the shut off for the water, you can put a glass under it and push for water a few times,on and off and see if this makes it stop, if not you would need to have this replaced. Any questions please post back.

The icemakers won't make ice if the temperature is not below a certain set point. Varies between manufacturers. Try making the temp colder.

Psc23sgrd ss ice/water dispenser not working

It is possible. When you put hit your glass against the paddle to you hear the switch click? And can you still select between water, cubed, and crushed ice? Also does the light by your glass come on when you but your glass against the paddle?

When you put your glass on the paddle it pushes in a microswitch. That microswitch will power the light if it is working and also sends power to the board you are talking about to dispense ice or water depending on what you have selected.

Ice and water dispenser not working but light on constantly

CM, there are 2 things that'd cause this. One is inexpensive, the other is not. First, check the cheap one... That rectangular rubber piece in back of your dispenser area is only a cover for a cantilever device. When you push in on this with a cup, the cantilever swivels back toward you and makes contact with a micro-switch. This switch sends power to the integrated circuit board which, in turn, performs the function you requested (cubed, crushed, water). OK... unplug your fridge. Then use your ears to diagnose this. Push the actuator pad several times in and out and listen for the tell-tale "click click" of the micro-switch. If you hear it clicking, it's good. Plug your fridge back in. Now for the expensive part. If your micro-switch clicks, your dispenser control board is fried and needs to be replaced. (I'm afraid that this is the case because the board controls the light as well as all the other functions.) UNPLUG YOUR FRIDGE BEFORE REPAIRING! To gain access the board, use a small flat blade screwdriver and remove the fascia panel starting at the bottom first. Just begin prying it gently off. Then remove the screws that are holding the board assy in place and gently pull it out. Take note of all of the wiring so you can re-install it correctly. The board number you need is #61005274. Unfortunately, it lists for about $100. A professional repairman would charge you over $200 for the repair, so you're actually saving money here! BTW, we recommend using a Belkin Surge protector for all appliances that utilize electronic controls. (you wouldn't plug you computer directly into a wall outlet, would you?) We regularly use these... http://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/(a1q3xi45sxgfbzm0qejhei55)/ProductDetails.aspx?SKU=3115672
