Problem with Auto Return on Thorens Turntable TD... (by 2 users)

I have a Thorens TD 147 turntable. It's manual cueing, but it has auto return where the arm will lift up in the lead out grove and the platter will stop. This no longer works and I have to make sure I'm next to the turntable to lift the arm up when it's at the end of the record. Any clues how to fix this?

Same problem with my Thorens TD-147. Maybe a problem with the optical sensor or board?
