Hi. Have you checked the purged unit? pads should be moving down, wiper should be extending and retracting and pads moving back up. The only way the logic board know about a good unit or a Jammed unit is that it gets the correct timing pulse from the purge unit at the correct time. Possible issues you have there are, either a cable is open, or a wire is open, or the photo cell is bad or the led that shines light to the photocell, or the cam is out of position, and does not give the signal at the correct time

Hello,

Among the most common problems with any make of printer are paper jams. A printer will jam for any number of reasons: It’s dirty, the wrong paper type is being used, or the rollers on the printer that feed the paper through its pathway are worn down. While cleaning the printer periodically and using the correct paper type are easy fixes.

Take care.

Hello, I got an error message 5C10. What does that

I just had this error message appear on my computer screen and the 6A00 on my MP830 printer at the same time. I heard this error mean a few things (paper jam, ink carriage stuck), though not sure what it does actually mean. I moved the carriage back-and-forth, blasted compressed air and checked for paper jams. When nothing worked, I looked inside and saw a lot of spilled ink, I'm guessing from not using genuine Canon ink. I blotted the inside with paper towels (use gloves!!),especially the far right, and took out the ink cartridges and blotted the carriage. I replaced everything, powered the printer off and on, and it worked fine. I would suggest first to slide the carriage back-and-forth and look for paper jams before cleaning the ink. Hope this works for you.

Carridge jam error shown but no sign of any blockage

Hi

Try this to remove carriage jammed error. Turn off your printer and open the ink cartridge door. Then use your hand to move the cartridge from left to right and then move it from right to left. I believe the ink cartridge it jammed and needs to use your hand to free it freely.

I will helps you solve your problem.

I just changed the (2) ink cartridges in my HP PCS 1610 All-in-One HP printer and now get an error message "CARRIAGE JAM - OPEN DOOR. CLEAR CARRIAGE JAM, AND THEN PRESS OK." I don't see any jam...

Have you tried moving the carriage to see if it really is jammed? Maybe you haven't put the levers down properly on your new cartridges....remove them, see if the carriage slides, then refit them and check the carriage again. You wont visually 'see' a carriage jam,; you have to try moving it. By the way, if it doesn't move, DONT force it to try and overcome the jam try and reason out why it doesn't move.
Hope this helps!

Carriage jam - Turn machine on, get carriage jam message, however the carriage can move freely if moved by hand. If I close and hit enter, carriage sounds like it's moving, then I get the error message...

Sorry about the B.S., you can move the carriage by hand, and all you need is to clean the encoder strip that runs across behind the carriage assembly. You can wipe the strip gently with an alcohol swab or a Q-tip moist with alcohol. The bars on that strip tell the carriage where it is and grease or ink on it will give the carriage jam error. No calibration necessary after moving the head or cleaning the strip.

Printer won't print

just remove the cartridge from the printer.after removing the cartridge just remove the power wire of the printer from the mains directly so the cartridge carriage remain in the center ,at that point take a greese material and apply it on the steel rod of the printer on which the carriage moves just with your hand try to move the carriage back and front manually and then at the time when you feel the carriage is moving freely with hand just on the printer by inserting the power wire in the electric outlet.and let the printer to settele for 1 minute then as usual insert the cartridge properly.and it will work. thanks.

Alert! Wrong Cartridge message

If you are absolutely sure that cartridge is installed correctly, the contacts where cartridge may be dirty. Clean gently with soft lint free cloth with small amount of rubbing alcohol and retry. If problem persists the contacts may have been damaged.
