Charged up the new unit and all it would say on the screen is "USB FULL".  Pushed every button (and combination there of) as well as checked the Hold and nothing.  Finally tried the reset and the screen went blank.  If I push On/Off the Walkman logo appears briefly on the screen & then nothing.

Any suggestions?  Going on holidays Friday & it would have been nice to have for those strolls along the beach.

    Thanks,

    Pawl

There is a reset method - check your user manual, or www.usasupport.philips.com

Still frozen

Hi,

Press and hold [VOL+] & [POWER] until the player resets.

If the player restarts normally then all is well.

If not, reset again and connect the device to the PC.

Install and run the Device Manager software from the product CD.

Select Repair / Restore option and follow the on-screen prompts.

Go ahead and get the new software for the model from Philips website - specifically, the new Device Manager, and run a Repair.

FROZEN On NON SUPPORTED FORMAT DETECTED SCREEN

Reset the player by inserting a paerlcip into the reset hole. If that fails, go to Philips' website and upgrade the firmware on your player to solve the freezing issue permanently. Actually, don't go to Philips website - run the Philips Device Manager and select Update. If the device manager won't recognize the player, unplug the GoGear, hold in either the shuffle button or volume + and reconnect it to the computer until a Found New Hardware Wizard window pops up. Once all this is done, use the Philips Media converter to convert all your video files from now on.

Frozen screen

The player can be reset if frozen by pressing and holding POWER ON & VOL+.

If the problem persists the only way to fix it is with Philips Device Manager. There is no Linux version available though.

Perhaps you can hijack a friends Windows PC to run it.
