Question about U.S. Robotics 5699B (USR5699B) Modem
I had just purchased a USRobotics model 5699B modem today at Wal-Mart, because my old modem kept disconnecting me all the time, and I felt that it was time to get a new modem anyways. I came home and placed it into my PCI slot and then closed it up, powered it on and then when my computer recognized it, I let it install the generic drivers. On the instructions, it says that after the installation of the generic driver, you are to place the CD that came with the modem and install those drivers. So I placed the CD in, and then clicked "Install Modem" like it asked, but then, this message always pops up;;
The generic drivers installed okay, but I don't know why the drivers from the CD won't work. Can someone please help?
Possible that it's a problem with the deriver on the CD, you can try this, copy the file from the CD and save it on your local hard drive and try to install it from there. Also, you can disable the firewall/s on your pc while installing it.
