Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

You need to run an anti-virus program. this is most commonly someone trying to get your password for face book using a Trojan of some sorts. looks like you been browser hijacked. AVG is the best free anti-virus software in my opinion. if you get any error trying to download it it is most certainly a virus. as most virus's prevent you from downloading software that will remove it.

Remove opendns

Ask your network administrator to remove the openDNS DNS entry from your router or server.

Tip

Protect your Router from Phising Attacks using OpenDNS

If you use OpenDNS it will make your Home Internet Browsing safer through integrated Web contentfiltering, anti-phishing and the use of the OpenDNS nameservers

Securing your network from online threats, reduce costs and enforce Internet-use policies.

OpenDNS is used today bymillions of home users AND organizations around the world but if you want to use it for you home internet then its FREE all you need to do is regsiter for an account @ https://store.opendns.com/get/basic

When you have competed this registration then you will need help setting up your Router to enable OpenDNS if you have one of the following routers

eaa345c.jpg
otherwise you will have to setup manual from your router admin panel usually on http://192.168.0.1 then follow the instructions @ https://store.opendns.com/setup/device/router

As soon as you have set up your Netgear Router, OR any other that you have to the OpenDNS Servers then you can start browsing safe in the knowledge that you wont be phished and you will enjoy a safer internet experience great for Internet Banking OR just a simple browse

They also recommend that you use their client-side software to keep your dynamic IP updated for your network. When installed the OpenDNS updater will run inyour system tray and send updates to your account whenever your IPaddress changes. This will help ensure that your system preferences areapplied to your network at all times.

NOTE for SKY Broadband Customers these are the IP addresses of the
nameservers

90.207.238.97
90.207.238.99

If you use SKY Broadband a popular UK ISP then it will either be a Black Sagem F@ST router OR a White Netgear DG834G Cloner. The Sky Broadband server can't be changed in the Sagem F@ST Router this needs to be done in the Network Cards setup details for XP HERE , the older white Netgear can be auto-set up from the OpenDNS Store

When all is working you should see this window on the OpenDNS Updater showing you account details this is why you need to register and your dynamic IP address this will warn you when it is changed by your ISP and if you are connected to the OpenDNS nameservers

Block facebook access

You might be better off creating a free account at opendns.com Then point your router to use their dns servers rather than your isp's. Use the parental controls at opendns to block certain sites for all phones, pcs and laptops in your home. Full instructions on their website.

Cannot bring up facebook, exploer is working fine.

Hi,

it's to do with domain name servers - otherwise known as 'DNS'. Normally these are sorted out by your Internet Service Provider - ring them and tell them there's a problem. However if you're techie enough it's easy to solve without bothering them - Use a free service such as OpenDNS (www.opendns.com) - it's a matter of going to your router (or modem) 's set up page, and typing in two rows of numbers. You don't need to understand it to sort it - but you do need to follow the instructions carefully if you're not sure what you're doing.Full instructions on OpenDNS's site - Click on 'Get Started'

The problem may lie with your ISP or with your router, and the way it's handling the DNS numbers which are (usually) automatically provided by the ISP - either way they should be able to provide advice.

A domain name server by the way is a device which translates all the web addresses we use - for example www.facebook.com - into the numbers which computer networks understand, so we surf to the same place each time.

Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

Is there are way to temporarily suspend access to facebook?

If you know how to tweak your DNS settings, there most certainly is...

1. Go to Opendns.com, and register yourself / follow the instructions
2. Use their domain name servers
3. Configure your Opendns acount to block Facebook.
