Try resetting your phone back to factory defaults. Make sure you first back up everything in iTunes and backup to your iCloud account before you reset your phone. You may need to put the phone in DMF mode (see multiple posts on internet for instructions on how to do this). If restoring your phone doesn't work, you may need to have your battery and home button flex cable replaced.
Try a hard reset. Hold the sleep button and the home buttons simultaneously, until the phone shuts off and then turns back on. Make sure u hold the buttons until the phone comes back on and then let go. If that doesn't work try backing it up and restore it.
Try get another battery, it could be that the present battery you are using is malfunctioning, it could be bad and that could be the reason why it is shutting off and on, first, replace the battery to check the performance.
This only worked as long as I shut the keyboard gently. The problem really seems to be mechanical. When sliding shut, the battery is jostled just enough to lose contact and shut the phone down. Placing a folded piece of paper between the battery and the non contact side of the phone to increase pressure slightly. Hope this works for you as well
I've gone to Verizon with this problem before and have been told that the software on my phone wasn't up to date and updating the software would fix the problem. However, that didn't work. I've looked around online and the phone shutting off randomly seems to be a common problem. I read somewhere that pressing a certain spot on the back of the phone on the battery can shut it off. I tried it out and I think that may be the cause; pressing just above the bottom rectangle on the battery shuts off my phone.
