Sounds like the compressor is getting too hot. High head pressure can cause this. A quick test is to lay your hand on the compressor. It should not be too hot to keep your hand on it.
You may have a restriction of the freon in the condensor.
Also you can replace the relay with a hard start relay.
Ask your local Appliance parts store what a hard start relay is.
also Clean outside condensor coils.with a good coils cleaner.
You can pick that up at your Local Appliance parts store too.

How to hook up kick down linkage on 1965 ford v/8 automatic?

Well there's a kick down rod or linkage that runs from the carb linkage to the kick down arm on the trans. Once that is on there should be a little spring that holds the weight of the linkage off of the kick down arm on the trans. That spring is at the carb end. Once you have it hooked up you can drive it and adjust to desired kick down feel.

Draind and filled my hot tub (cal spa). electric heat. once i filled it back up and turned breaker back on. when the heater kicks on it kicks out the breaker.

When you drain and refill most spas you will get an air lock in the plumbing. You will need to find the drain valve and open it to flood the pipes. It's possible you may have burnt the element and may have to replace it. Hopefully the breaker kicking spared you this expense. Myself I burnt two of them before I learned. Good luck.

On my 72 spitfire the starter stays engaged flywheel is new

I would suspect the "bendix drive" in the starter. That is the part that slides the gear into the flywheel when you turn the key. The flywheel kicks it back out once the engine starts but sometimes when they go bad instead of kicking in they refuse to kick out. Hope this helps.

Yz 250 4-stroke It's extremely hard to kick over, so it has a pressure release lever on the handle bar. Is there some "proper" way to kick it over, or do I just kick it while holding the "pressure rel

That lever is a compression release and pulling it will make kick stating an excersie routine. Kick start without the pulling the lever. See how that works. good luck.

Very hard to kick start

i dont know what your timing is relevant to flicking the compression switch and kicking, but get the engine to the compression stroke and then as you go to kick it hard, flick the switch at that moment. timing is everything. i had an old yamaha tt 500 that kicked back so hard my foot slipped off the kick start and kick lever came up and took the skin off my shin.. it took quit a bit of time to get the timing but once i did, it was easy.. hope this helps.
