This error can be caused by a paper jam, or a little piece of paper in the toner area, Take the cartridge out and use a flashlight to check in the sides looking for paper. Other reason is that sometimes the sensor that detect the toner is out of place and in that case you can try to power cycle with the toner out before you install it again. Good luck

Replace cartridge on hplaserjet2300dn

Hello!
Thank you for your inquiry.
HP LaserJet 2300dn The HP LaserJet 2300dn printer is the same as the HP LaserJet 2300n printer, except that the printer comes with a built-in duplexer (for automatically printing on both sides of paper).
Here is a link to the user guide that will help help you with a lot of common problems including managing the print cartridge area on beginning on page 68. http://www.avss.ucsb.edu/download/hp2300man.pdf
If this is a new toner cartridge the installation instructions will be included inside the packaging including instructions on eco-sensitive means of disposal of old cartridge.
If this is your first time installation you will find it's very simple.
  • Turn the printer off.
  • Open the top cover.
  • If new - remove any orange tabs labeled remove 1st. If this is a replacement cartridge grab the old toner cartridge by the finger hold indentation and pull up.

CAUTION

To prevent damage to the print cartridge, do not expose it to light for

more than a few minutes.

Be careful not to touch the transfer roller (the black, rubber roller located

underneath the print cartridge). Skin oils on the roller can cause

print-quality problems.

  • Install the new print cartridge. It should slide easily down the guide slots on either side.
  • Close the top cover.

Note:

If the print cartridge is difficult to reinstall, make sure that the registration

plate has been flipped back down into position and that you have

pushed the print cartridge firmly in place.

  • Power the printer back on.

Hope this helps helps. Please keep us updated and remember to rate this answer.
Thanks for using FixYa,

I have HP laserjet all in one 2840. got massage replace supplies. replace black ink. massage still there. printer does not work. please help tell me what to do thanks, Troy

Did you purchase a new cartridge or refill? These supplies have a non-resetable chip on them that must be replaced when a cartridge is refilled. If it is an new HP original cartridge, contact HP and have them replace it. If it is a refill, contact whoever you bought it from and get them to replace it.

One cartridge which is new will not print

If the printer tries to print but there is no image then it is possible that the sealing tape on the cartridge has not been removed. If the printer does not even accept the cartridge then it is possible that you have a bad cartridge. Put your old cartridge in to confirm that printer is good. If this new cartridge was not an original HP cartridge then there is a pretty good chance that it is defective and the company you bought it from should replace it at no charge.

Install black cartridge message on HP Laserjet 2420 printer while inserting new cartridge

If you still have your old cartridge, install that to see if the printer works. If it does he new cartridge has a bad chip on it and should be replaced by the vendor.

I have printernhp 1522nf and lcd show error " ...

The error message 10.1000 as yo can see on the service manual is related to a defective cartridge, basically the printer its not reading the e-label (chip) on the toner cartridge, this could happen because of 3 reasons :
1) You are using a third party cartridge or refilled (there are not supported)
2) The e-label reader on the printer is defective
3) Theres a problem with the e-label on the actual cartridge
Here are 2 steps you can try:

Turn the printer off, take out all supplies out, including paper and cartridges, turn the printer back on and reinstall the all supplies, with this simple steps you can reset the sensors

Whe you take out the cartridge its a good idea to check if theres any little piece of paper that could be blocking the sensors on the printer

Hope this can help you

Replaced HP LaserJet 2840 catridges and now [?][?][?][?] ! error

The OEM cartridges have a chip on them. If the aftermarket supplies do not have the right chip, missing a chip, etc., the machine will not recognize. Placing the old cartridge back in without any toner can give off the same message.

Try rebooting the printer without a cartridge in. Then install the cartridge, either one, and see if that helps. If not, wait for the OEM to arrive.

HP Laserjet 3005DN toner cartridge change

You don't. HP printers seem to be very particular about this.  Take it back and get the exact replacment, including the brand.
