Check the motherboard for leaking or domed capacitors if you find any they will need to be replaced or the motherboard changed. If you don't know what bad capacitors look like just google for an image of them. Also you may want to check the power supply with a power supply checker or by swapping out the power supply with a known working power supply. If these methods do not help then disconnect everything that is connected to the motherboard like any add on cards and any usb connectors as occasionally a short in a motherboard add on will cause the same problem as well. also try swapping out the ram. good luck but most likely sounds like a dead board to me.

If it is a laptop, let the battery charge for a while and try again. If still nothing and I am assuming the power light/charge light is lit, remove power sources, remove hdd and RAM. Power up and check the display tells you it is not happy, then remove power source and add RAM. Test again finally add the hdd.. If still nothing, could be a motherboard problem, who knows as we don't even know what it is.

Hello,
You will remove the CMOS battery and wait for 5 minutes .
Hope it will solve.
If the problem is same please change or clean the RAM with eraser and install it again.
If the problem is same please ,
http://www.techspot.com/review/129-asus-p6t-deluxe/If the mobo is in warranty should change .If period expire Now you will create a identity mark on BIOS chip and ,you should remove resoiulder the BIOS chip from *********** board .and install it again tightly.

If all the procedure will fail think your mobo should change as new.
Hope this helps.

My screen get dark whenever i start it...nothing is visible in that...this happening for the last one week....

Try attaching an external monitor to the laptop & see if you could get any display on it. If this is successful, then you might have either a faulty LCD cable or screen inverter board.
The LCD cable transfers data signal from the motherboard & video card to the LCD screen. It also supplies high voltage DC power to the screen inverter board. The screen inverter board works as a power supply for the backlight lamp mounted inside the LCD screen. It converts low voltage DC power to high voltage AC power needed for the backlight lamp.

I power on the PC, up comes the following, "ASUS Nother Board. Press DEL to run set up. Press TAB to display bios post message". I press both nothing happens. I turn the PC on and off several times but...

This means that there is some setting in the BIOS that is set to display the POST results on being asked. Not automatically. So, what you do is to enter BIOS and there look for POST (power on self test) results to be displayed or not. Set it to auto display. Or no POST. then this problem will stop bothering you. POST is a test that al computers carryout before booting to see if all systems are working alright.

Year old advent netbook 4211b will not turn on,

When you press power button press F1 or F2 or "del" key if you can see bios screen then you not need to refix RAM memory or reset bios.
IF you can see bios screen then lake sure harddisk is detected and SATA is disable then save settings and exit.
Also when you power up press F8 key if you able to see safe mode and other menu then you have change screen resolution enter in enable vga mode.
Then open control panel and display then change scree resolution to 1024*768.
Then apply and ok.
But if you can't see bios screen or nothing in dispaly then you have to refix RAM memory .
Check in back side there is 1 plate open it then refix RAM memory.
If still not get display then open back cover of laptop then find motherbord on it then pull cmos cell for 10 minutes so all settings go to defaults then again refix cmos cell then check.

Let me know if you need more assistance.
Thanks.

When I press power button, only power button is lit green solid and nothing else happens...nothing on the screen...all black. No sound codes. Tried external monitor...nothing. CPU fan keeps running....

yes its motherboard. GPU has failed. Most likely you'll need to get your motherboard Reballed or Reflowed. I have found some reasonable business partners that do this service through ebay. usually runs 80-140 to get fixed. good luck!

When you say you turn it on, do any of the lights on the laptop light up? Does it make any beeps?

Have you done anything to your laptop or has anything happened that you think might have caused this?

Start off by simplifying your setup as much as possible to eliminate any outside influences.

Remove anything plugged into the laptop. Then unplug power and remove the battery. With battery out and power disconnected, hold down the power switch 15 seconds (this can clear out a corrupt BIOS).

Reconnect only AC power and try to power up. Verify your AC power has a power light lit up and all connections are snug.

If no go, try only with the battery and no AC.

Still no go, remove battery and any removable drive (CD, DVD, etc.). Connect AC power and retry boot.

If you feel comfortable removing the hard drive, remove it and retry boot.

If all drives are out, all external and internal devices removed and still no display, try removing the memory and putting it back in (reseating it).

Let me know if that helps or if you need further help.
