The pen drive might have been damaged for good. If it fell down or got hit on a hard surface. On the other hand it is possible that you have gotten a virus on the pen drive which has affected the operation of the device.
Best thing to do is try assessing the device through the Command prompt this should help.

insert 32 or 2 GB USB go to control panel administrive tools computer management disk mangement you can defragment this USB drive or you can right click select properties tools check now?tick in both boxes to scan for and repair/recover any bad sectors and automaticall fix any corrupt files
