Are you sure you do nt have a browser? I find that a little strange since you posted a question to here. You more then likely have a browser if you now what I mean :) Instead of going to fixya, type at the top of your screen where the FIXYA url is :)

But if this helps you to feel comfortable to know what a web browser here, have a read:

How do I get my husband on his own acct on facebook using my old computer

Sounds like you had your browser save passwords, so you 1st need to remove saved passwords. Each browser is different, so search the help for your browser & it will guide you.
Then, assuming he has his own account, he logs in using his name / password; whether he has browser save it or not is up to him. I strongly recommend against having browsers save password, too easy to hack.

Monitor works normal for maybe 15minutes then goes dark. Let it sit maybe 5 minutes and it comes back on now for maybe a couple minutes, then continues on/off every couple of minutes. I took it apart and...

Normally you have to replace all the capacitors as a set since they usually fail together.

Here is a link to a repair kit for that model currently available on Ebay for about $14 US which includes all the replacement capacitors you will likely need for this repair:

Just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information and items at the website indicated.

You seem to know what you are doing, but please feel free to comment back here to this page if you have any details to add, have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck and take care.

Can the monitor height be adjusted. It seems to be fixed to the stand with no adjustments?

No but you could always put something under the stand most can only be tilted for lighting reasons.

Removing a pop up window on center of viewsonic monitor 2231ww screen

The pop-up window come due to any software program. This is not related to the monitor. So you have to check the software which causes this.

Generally pop-up window comes from internet browser. You may change the setting of your internet browser to "Blobk POP-ups". If you tell me what browser you are using i can send you the instruction.

If the pop-up is coming from any other program then there is no general instruction.

One more thing you may try. Do a virus clean. That will solve pop-ups due to virus.

Some sites the scroll down speed is really slow. It seems like text pages are ok and ones with images really slows the scroll responce down. Any ideas??? Thanks!!

Sounds like you are having problems with your Internet connection speed. You could try some of these tips..
  • Step 1 Click Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections.
    Select "Internet Options."
Under Check for newer versions of stored pages, click "Automatically." Under browsing history, click "Settings."
If you're using dial-up, set the number under Disk Space to Use to between 250 and 1024 megabytes (MB). If you're using a DSL or cable connection, set it between 50 and 75 MB. Click "OK."
  • Step 2 Select "Delete" under Browsing history.
Click "Delete files..." under Temporary Internet Files to clear your browser cache.
Click "Delete cookies..." to remove all cookies from your hard drive.
  • Step 3 Disable any browser add-ons you don't need. In Internet Options, click "Programs." Click "Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer." Select the name of the add-on you don't want to load, and select "Disable" under Settings at the bottom of the dialogue box. Avoid deleting ActiveX controls as this will most likely cause the browser to prompt you each time you encounter content on the web, such as Flash animations, that use that control.
  • Step 4 Switch to a faster browser. While Internet Explorer is the most popular browser, it often causes pages to load slowly. Download a free browser such as Firefox, Opera or Chrome to get a quick speed boost to your browsing.
  • Step 5 Disable images in your browser. To disable images in Internet Explorer, open Internet Options and click the "Advanced" tab. Scroll down to "Multimedia" and uncheck "Show Pictures."
To disable them in Firefox, click Tools > Options in your browser window and select "Content." Uncheck the box beside "Load images automatically."
To disable images in Opera, open the arrow beside the camera icon at the bottom of your browser, and select "No images."
To browse with Google Chrome without images, right click on the Chrome shortcut and place the switch "-disable-images" without quotes after the last quotation mark in the path of the file.
  • Step 6 Disable active content if you're still experiencing a problem with your browsing speed. Return to the "Advanced" tab in Internet Options. Uncheck the boxes beside "Play animations in webpages" and "Play sounds in webpages."
