Look in the bobbin area to see where the screw fell out. Check your manual. Sometimes they have a good picture of the bobbin area.

How do to adjust the bobbin tension? Do I need to remove the throat plate and loosen the screws that hold the bobbin mechanism in place so I can get to the tension screw?

the tension screw for the bobbin thread is on the side of the bobbin carrier
that bit that you put the full bobbin in to clip it back onto the machine
t there is a small spring plate that you pull the bobbin thread under when you put the bobbin back in the carrier and you pull the thread down a slot and under that spring plate
the tension is adjusted by that small screw that holds that plate on
only very small adjustments make a lot of difference to the tension
don't touch any other screws or you will alter the needle /hook timing and that will put you a pickle

How do i install the bobin on singer 4830c sewing machine?

Inserting a bobbin Raise presser foot. Turn hand wheel toward you until needle is in its highest position. Open slide plate and remove empty bob bin. . Pull 4" (10 cm) of thread from replacement bobbin and insert bobbin into case as shown. . Holding bobbin in place guide thread into notch (1 ) and then down the slot to the left and guide around into notch (2). . Draw several inches of thread diagonally across the bobbin toward the back of the machine. . While holding thread on outside, close the slide plate allowing thread to extend through the slot between the slide plate and needle plate.

My bobin thread gets tangled and loose

have you checked the tension? In the older machines you could adjust the thread tension by tightening the screw on the side of the bobin case. With alot of the newer machines you have to lift out the bobbin and then lift out the casing to adjust the screw on the underside of the casing.

Janome 11000SE - the bobin case keeps spinning and won't stay in place. I am on my 3rd one. I just had it in for a check up and they said nothing was wrong with it. They put in a new bobin case though, and...

Once the bobbin case is damaged you need to replace it or the problem only get worse. If you are on your third case then something is not right. This machine does not have that kind of history of problems with the bobbin case. Typically this kind of problem is caused by the thread not being inserted into the thread take up lever correctly. (this is the lever that moves up and down when you sew and you see it at the top when you thread it) There is a small spring gate that the thread needs to pass thru when you thread it, There could be a problem with the positioning brackets that hold the bobbin case in place so I would explain that you feel three bobbin cases replaced is excessive and you need some help in getting the problem corrected.
I have assumed that the dealer is replacing the cases for you, if you are just buying the case and putting in yourself, then the problem may well be the brackets, Good Luck!

Wont sew thread bunches up

Hi!

I think you are threading the top of the machine incorrectly. Make sure that what I'm saying is correct, use two color threads to sew with- and you will see that it is in fact the top thread that is bunching.

This might be a tension problem. Could be the bobbin is not threaded in the case right. First, check the threading of the bobbin and then check the stitch.

Next, adjust the tension on the bobbin case. There is usually a small screw on the case that can be tightened or loosened. I think you may need to adjust it a bit or adjust the top tension knob, just a small bit at a time. It the top does not change the stitch, then go to the bobbin case and adjust the screw to tighten the stitch a little bit more.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Installing the hook and bobbin assembly.

The plastic bobbin case should sit on top of the raceway, it should slot in quite easily, once the bobbin case is in put the small metal clip at the top over to hold it in place.

I have model 8280 and the bobbin thread keeps bunching up on the bottom. I have tried to rethread it but it keeps happening.

i think your putting in your bobin backwards,
to check put your bobin in and hold bobin , and bobin case by thread if it unrolls its backwards,
hope this helps!!

Threading the Bobbin

Place the bobbin in the bobbin case making sure the thread feeds clockwise. Draw the thread through the slot on the case. Continue to draw under the tension spring and through the opening pulling out about 6" of thread. Hold the latch open, position the bobbin case into the suttle and release the latch. THe case should lock into place when the latch is relaeased.

With the top thread, hold out about 5" to the left. While holding on tot he top thread, turn the hand wheel toward you and you should see a loop at the feed dogs. grab the two thread and bring them behind the presser foot.

Thread is clogging up under fabric and is not catching bobin thread

I have the same problem, I fix it by removing both Shuttle hook and Bobbin Case and tested it to see if the shuttle hook rotated freely within bobbin case. I noticed the screw for the tension spring was too high and was rubbing agaist bobbin case. Just tighten screw on spring and and recheck for rubbing.
