Question about SySTOR Systems Computers & Internet

1 Answer

The cd that comes with it tells me to make what I want on my disc and it will burn it. Problem is there ie no way for that to happen with my stand alone system. On the web it tells me to burn my image on a cd, load it into my burner and it will then burn to my lightscribe cds. This sounds like its right but when I do it my SySTOR system tells me it does not support the format or nothing happens at all.

Tip

How to Erase a Burned CD

CD-RW stands for CD re-writeable. This type of disc can be written on or "burned" multiple times. However, in order to burn music or data onto a CD-RW that already has something on it, you must first erase the current contents of the disc. No special software is needed to do this, as you can do it with the Windows Media Player program, which already comes installed on all computers with the Windows operating system. Regular CD-R discs cannot be erased or reused--the discs must be labeled as CD-RW.

Instructions
Step 1.
Click on the "Start" menu button in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. Select "Windows Media Player" from the pop-up menu.
Step 2.
Select the "Library" tab in the main Windows Media Player screen.
Step 3.
Insert the CD-RW that you want to erase in the CD-ROM drive. Close the "AutoPlay" window if it appears.
Step 4.
Right-click the CD-ROM drive in the "Navigation" pane on the left side of Windows Media Player. Select "Erase disc" from the drop-down menu. This will automatically erase the contents of the disc.

My Ge Force will burn audio but not DVD.I have tried with Ashampoo,Record Now and Express Burner. The burning programme tells me there is no disc in drive

Hi Brian.

I think you are a little confused.

Your GeForce FX 5500 is a graphics card
All this does is allow you to see your desktop on a monitor and play some games.

For burning discs you need a cd/dvd burner. This is a cd/dvd drive that you can use to read and write cd's and dvd's

You say that your program is telling you that there is no disc in the drive. (Your CD/DVD burner drive)
You can burn audio discs so this tells me you know that much and you have blank cd's so my two things I need to tell you are these..

1. To make a DVD or Burn a DVD you need a BLANK DVD disc in your burning drive. Maybe you have mistakenly placed a CD in the drive instead?
2. Your Burner drive may not burn DVD's only CD's?

Check on the door to the drive that opens to allow you to place discs into it. It should say something like DVD multi recorder or Compact Disc re-writeable. If it does not say DVD on it anywhere your drive is not capable of burning DVD movies and therefore you will need to purchase another burner.

I hope this helps?

After I insert the CD is tells me disc error and wont play

what kind of cd is it? burned or store bought? also how scratched is the disc? if it is burned then it might be able to play burned cd's. if its really scratched then cd might be wasted. if it's neither then try using a cleaning cd to clean the laser. if it's only the one cd that this happens with then cd could be ruined (i.e. exposed to too much heat).

What the E-20 showing on my cd player

Hello! The "E20" error code loosely means that the CD player cannot focus, or read the disc properly. This could be from a number of reasons, dirty pickup lens, dirty/scratched disc, excessive humidity, or using a burned/copied CD that was burned at a speed that was too fast to provide a "deep" enough burn to the disc. And lastly, I know GM's Delco radios in the late 90's had issues reading CD-RW's; but read CD-R's fine (if burned slow enough)

My first suggestion would be to see if this happens on all CD's - originals and/or burned ones. If it only happens on burned/copied discs - I'd recommend slowing down the burn speed to no faster than 16x and retrying. If it does happen with both types of discs, then I'd purchase a CD lense cleaner and run that through a couple of cycles.

Hope this helps and good luck! Thanks for using FixYa!
