I have a VR-407 reciever and I am unable to get my CD/DVD rear outputs to work. I am hooking up a DP-3020 and I can get it to work in the Audio L/R jacks in the front. Is there something that I need to do...

A Kenwood VR-407 is a receiver and has an INPUT pair for CD/DVD, not outputs. Plug ANY functioning audio source (except a turntable) into it and select it on the front panel.

If your DP doesn't work on either I'd suspect something is wrong with IT.

I have a kenwood vr-707 it gets surround sound on dvd/vcr but I can't get surround sound on just tv.

Well you have a built in decoder/surround processor that will detect a signal with the surround sound info(dvd/sat.receiver/cable converter etc.) and will then process it to the different speakers on your system. In the absence of that signal it will process it as standard stereo sound(two front speakers). You may want to look in your receiver functions/menu for simulated surround.
Hope this will help.

I have a VR 615 receiver. All 6 surround sound

It all depends on the processing the receiver is doing when recreating the sound. Change the surround mode to Dolby Digital or THX if it's on there. When it is receiving a Left/Right signal only, it does some processing but pretty much spits it out of all the speakers, fronts being the loudest. That's why you always hear them. When it is getting a Digital signal, the receiver does a much better job of processing the audio to the correct speaker, but unless there is a lot of background noise, there might not be any signal going to the speaker.
Also, check to make sure that the "size" of the speaker on the rear channels is set correctly. There is a setting on most receivers to tell the receiver how big the speaker is on that channel. This sets the power level on the output to accomodate the size of the speaker.

I own a Kenwood vr 6060. My speakers make a poping sound when I pause the DVD player. I've tried connecting different speakers, and the problem still occurs. Is this a setting issue or a hardware...

This is more likely a problem with the CD player, not the receiver. The CD player has what are called "muting" transistors that should prevent the creation of the "pop". Try the CD on another system. I suspect that the pop will follow the CD player. If this is the case, close this question as "solved" and post a the make and model of the CD player requesting a fix for a muting transistor problem.

Please keep us posted,

MY KENWOOD VR-506 RECEIVER HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO MOISTURE NOW TURNS OFF IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT S BEEN TURNED ON

Just open the cover and use a dryer or a hair dryer to dry the moisture, after that look for the fuse and replace it with identical rating,im sure the fuse is shorted, that is the common causes of moisture .

Hope it may help you..

Surround sound not working properly

Hi guys,

Make sure that your sound aka dvd or whatever is set for a DTS (5.1) set your dvd at bitstreem and your receiver to automatic detection. When your movie will start you will heard your Receiver Relay//Mosfet clicking and a Red led will say DTS once you get there you will be able to select your Doldy digital surround the real one.

Ps: if you want to reset your VR-309 to default HOLD the POWER button for 5 sec unplug it from the wall hold it for 5sec while unplugged and replug it will be rested to default.
