My tractor will go forward or backward?

Is it your tractor won't go forward or backward? If so it sounds like the drive belt from the power takeoff pulley which is located in the front of the tractor and runs to the rear wheels is off.

While i was cutting my grass my tractor istop and backed up to cut some grass that i had missed i then put it to forward gear then my mower did`nt go forward. i removed my mowing deck and checked my belts...

sounds like you might either have the wrong size belt or its not routed correctly. if you provide the model number i can show you diagram and part number (size) of belt.

Knocking sound engine

Sounds like the transmission is having an issue. Put on some hearing protectors and while someone is on the tractor, THAT YOU TRUST AND ISN"T AN IDIOT OR DRUNK, hold the brake and shift into forward and reverse while you listen to where the sound is coming from exactly. Then, have them run through the controls so you can see what's happening and possibly what isn't happening correctly.

Even when the engine is on, the tractor does not move.

I would contact John Deere for assistance. They should be able to give you an immediate answer.

Gt 245 lawn tractor won't go forward or backward

Check the drive belts first. and make sure the hydro release lever is in the correct position. If it is not- you can push the lawn tractor and have the rear wheels turn. It sometimes doubles as a "Forward" "Neutral" "Reverse" lever on other brands of lawn tractor.

The belts should be in their guides and pulley grooves- check to make sure it does not have a hidden break by having the engine off, and pulling on the belt.

Lastly, check to make sure the hydro itself is not out of oil or low on oil. It uses low viscosity "HyGard" oil. Capacity if you drain the old oil out and refill is 4.6 quarts. Look for a leak if the level is low.

If it still does not move, make sure the levers are set so you are in forward motion positions, and push- if the rear wheels move there is a problem in the hydro unit.

WHY IS MY RAIN TRAIN MOVING BACKWARDS

Hi there ... have you posted this question before? Not important ... I answered this question yesterday ...

ASSURE that the water arms are pointing in the proper direction. Normally, the arms should turn in a clock-wise direction to make the "tractor" go forward. If yours are going the other way, the tractor will travel backward. If yours ARE moving in a clock-wise direction and your tractor is going backward, reverse so the arms travel in a counter clock-wise direction. If it STILL goes backward, no matter which direction you are spinning, return the device to the store where you got it and ask for assistance.

I have this very device (though not this model number), though mine is LOTS older than yours is. I can make it go backward but it doesn't necessarily want to straddle the hose in reverse. All I do is reverse the direction the arms spin and vo-la ... it goes backward. BTW, I always store my tractor with the transmission in neutral to avoid damage by rough handling of others.

Goes backwards is there a button to push to make it go forward?

Hi,
No, but if you turn the sprinkler heads so that it spins the opposite way, you will change the direction to forward..

Sprinkler will not move forward properly

I have 2 John Deere 4010 traveling sprinklers and they both do the same thing. I took them apart and the plastic worm gear has flat spot on them. I am having difficulty finding replacement parts.
