How do I correct a long delay before typing double letters, backspacing, or deleting

Dear Louise,
G'day from New Zealand! Fist: Start > Control Panel > Keyboard > adjust settings. If this does not fix it, then it could be that the keyboard driver(s) are corrupted: reinstall. I hope that this helps! GBU! - Bruce.

My backspace only deletes one leter at a time

of course your backspace button only deletes one letter unless you press the backspace button for a long time and it still deletes one letter. There is something wrong with your keyboard.

I cannot type double letters without waiting between letters. This is true with backspacing more than one space at a time.

Try changing the Typematic Rate
Go to the BIOS configuration and set the :-
Typematic Rate (Chars/Sec) to 6
and
Typematic Delay (Msec) to 250

Backspace button dont work, Cant push same any two letters in a row

Backspace problem could be a dirty contact, in which case, just take it apart, and clean the whole contact board with electric spray cleaner. Could also be the same software problem with the consecutive letters. Looks like the keyboard driver got corrupted. Reinstall keyboard software / driver
