How do I repair a PO300 fault code

P0300 random misfire There several thing's on a engine that could cause this problem . Vacuum leaks - intake gaskets ,vacuum hose's ,partially clogged fuel injectors , fuel filter , weak fuel pump. Plus a dirty mass air fuel sensor or a bad one for that matter . An doesn't always have to set a code . What make , model an year vehicle do you have . If a GM brand you could disconnect the mass air flow sensor an run the car an see if it makes a difference . There are plenty of diagnostic trouble shooting videos on youtube . search P0300 . good luck hope this helps .

How do the values for total mass before and after reaction demonstrate the law of conservation of matter?

"
  1. The law of conservation of mass, or principle of mass conservation, states that for any system closed to all transfers of matter and energy (both of which have mass), the mass of the system must remain constant over time, as system mass cannot change quantity if it is not added or removed."
In other words matter cannot be created or destroyed, only converted, into heat, energy, work, or other matter.

If your system is not closed (it probably isn't) and mass does not remain equal, then it is most likely that energy was gained or lost by the system. This most likely was in the form of heat.

You will need a pretty good scales to detect this though, as a tiny amount of matter = a huge amount of energy

Explain the difference between "mass" and "weight" . if a NQ drill rod has a mass of 7,6kg per meter, what is the weight of a 3 meter NQdrill rod?

If the rod has a mass of 7,6kg/m then 3m of it will mass 22.8kg.

Mass it the amount of matter. Weight is the force exerted by the mass in a gravitational field. If you have an object massing 22.8kg, the mass of it will be 22.8kg whether you're on Earth, the Moon, or in outer space. It will weigh 22.8kg at the surface of the Earth, about 4kg on the Moon, and nothing (weightless) in outer space.

What is a MAP in a 2002 grand am?

Vacuum is the difference between the absolute pressures of the intake manifold and atmosphere. Vacuum is a "gauge" pressure, since gauges by nature measure a pressure difference, not an absolute pressure. The engine fundamentally responds to air mass, not vacuum, and absolute pressure is necessary to calculate mass. The mass of air entering the engine is directly proportional to the air density, which is proportional to the absolute pressure, and inversely proportional to the absolute temperature.

What kind of fluid is used for brakes on a 2000 honda passport ?

The three main types of brake fluid now available are DOT3, DOT4 and DOT5. DOT3 and DOT4 are glycol-based fluids, and DOT5 is silicon-based. The main difference is that DOT3 and DOT4 absorb water, while DOT5 doesn't. It shouldn't matter which one you use, as long as you use the right amount.

I had the check engine light come up. It was the Mass airflow sensor. I changed it with a new one from Advanced Auto. They reset the computer and a day later the engine light came back on. Same code Mass...

it can make a difference with the units.
i have just changed the same sensor on a skoda diesel.
there were 2 units listed as being correct for the engine. one works, one doesn't.
always make sure you have the correct unit for the right engine.

Does a 1996 Ford Taurus 3.0 have a hot wire type mass air flow sensor or a vane type? Would spraying carb cleaner into the MAF fix the problem of hard cold engine start? Once the engine warms up does the...

TheMobilian, Yes, the Mass Air Flow is a Hot Wire type. There is a spray made for the mass called mas air flow cleaner. Regular cab cleaner is too harsh and can eat the coating inside mass air flow and it's delicate parts. Use throttle bore foam cleaner; it works like bathroom scrubbing bubbles and eats the gum and varnish. When engine warms up (closed Loop) both sensors work together giving input to ecm for output. Have someone with a live data reader read both sensors. (Let me know the readings?)

Image Mass Air Flow(MAF)Sensor

PURPOSE

The Mas s Air flow (MAT) sensor measure s the amount of air flowing into the engine.

This value is used by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in calculating the required

Fuel injector pulse within order to provide the desired air fuel ratio. This input can also

be used in determining Electronic Pressure Control (EPC). Shift and torque converter

clutch scheduling.

CONSTRUCTION

The MAE sensor is located directly in the airflow path between the air cleaner housing

and the throttle body. Ail air entering the intake manifold must pass through the sensor.

Located in the MAT sensor directly in the airstream are two platinum wires, a hot wire

heated by electrical current and a cold reference wire. The MAF sensor uses the air flow

across these wires to calculate its output.

OPERATION

The hot wire is maintained at 200CC (392CF) above ambient temperature as measured by

a constant cold *e. The current required to maintain the temperature of the hot wire is

proportional to the air mass flow. The MAE sensor then measures the amount of

electrical current required to maintain this temperature difference and converts this

value to an analog DC voltage. This output varies directly with the mass air flow rate.

Pay attention to the Paragraph about the torq converter.

I unplugged the Mass Airflow Sensor and my truck runs better. I'm told by parts suppliers there is no Mass Airflow Sensor. What part did I unplug and will it damage the engine to run without it?

Most likely if there is no mass air sensor you actually unplugged the inlet air temperature sensor IAT. This is a little bead like thermistor that sits in the ducted air stream to measure incoming air temperature. Without an air mass sensor your engine will have instead a manifold absolute (air) pressure MAP sensor. This measures the absolute air pressure (the difference between the atmospheric air pressure outside and the drop in pressure inside) in the inlet manifold. The drop in pressure in conjunction with air temperature allows the engine control unit to calculate the amount of air in the engine to which it adds the correct amount of fuel per each injection cycle. The loss of the IAT signal is not critical as the ECU will assume a default value. However when extreme low temperatures are encountered the absence of the IAT may be become noticeable as the charge of air entering the engine will be denser and as a consequence the fuel mix will be much leaner; maybe to lean to start up.
