Rheem condenser fan motor

"the guy" added another start capacitor because the motor installed is actually better than spec. Your unit calls for 1/5 HP, 1050 RPM motor. The installed device is 25 rpm faster, and 1/4 HP.

The Rheem/Weather King/Corsaire/RUUD part number is 51-23055-11 (replaces many other Rheem/Corsaire/Weather King/RUUD Part #s including 51-21855-01)! It takes a 3 uf Capacitor rated at 370 volts. This Motor mouts with screws in the SIDE, instead of mounting studs coming out the back!!

Normal price for a generic motor w/ cap will be $125 or so, OEM part will be closer to 200. This is without the fan blade. Make sure you get the correct side mount studs.

This vintage unit is rated at only 10 SEER and is less energy efficient than a modern window air conditioner. Its days are numbered, and you are paying at least double every time it runs. Before you sink much money into this unit, please consider replacing it before it has a heart attack. Replacing it during the off season is cheaper anyway.

Please mark my answer down as helpful.

Rheem outside unit humming, fan not spinning

there is a dual cap in unit. kill the power and remove the silver cylinder. on top it has 3 places it can put wires. F, H, C. write the colors of wires and where they belong. take part up to granger and buy. 30 bucks most. replace. if same problem do the same with fan motor, around 60.

Rheem condenser fan don't spin up under it'sown power.

If you have a multimeter that tests "uf" or "mfd" that is microfarads. That will test the capacitor. Turn off power to unit, touch top of cap with insulated screwdriver across terminals to discharge and remove fan and common. MARK WHICH WIRES GO WHERE. Or if no mfds on multimeter, amps×2650÷volts=mfd. Amp draw on fan wire off of cap times 2650 divided by the volts between common and fan on the cap. If cap is good it's likely the motor.

Need a part number for fan motor on UAMB-036JAZ

Hi, what you need to do is gain access to the motor its self. If it is the condenser fan motor or the blower motor . This is a 3 ton unit from the numbers you have given me. There are two ways you can do this. On the data plate on this Ruud unit, normally they are paper with a plastic coating on Ruuds and Rheems, and it will tell you the H.P., size like 1/3, amperage, and the R.P.M.'s. Then get all of the model number and serial number from the unit. The best way is to get the information from the motor its self. It has the voltage, amperage, name of motor, example a G.E., the part number, Horse power (H.P.) r.p.m. such as 1725, 1100, and so on. Rotation, CW or CCW. The new motor will be reversable, just change 2- leads on it. This would be your best bet, to do it this way.
please don't forget to rate me and I know you will be kind. I cant give you the numbers as they will use different motors in the same unit, and different brand names.
Sincerely,

Outside fan runs constantly Aux Heat only 50%

Let's start out by your statement that the fan would not run, then you changed the contactor, not it won't stop running.
I believe, based on your info, here's what you need to do. Kill power to the unit. The 2 wires bringing power to the outdoor unit should be on the top 2 terminals. The 2 fan wires should be on the bottom 2 terminals. This is providing that the contactor is mounted Vertical. The could be an outside chance that the unit has a short in it and you are getting voltage feedback somewhere.
Take another look.

I am trying to determine the specs on my Rheem Criterion II lx2000 heating/AC unit unit installed in Sept 99, I blieve it was manufactured 2/5/99 based on AC Pump serial number 6263F259928697 Model RAMB...

rheems site is secure for dealers only but i can tell you. its a 3 ton unit 12 SEER R22 unit. The coil (rcga) is a 3 ton coil The AC is a 1999 and coil 1998. the # you have for the heater is accually just the honeywell gas valve. the model for the heater would be on the inside wall near the gas valve.

A/c/heater blower will not work

Does the motor get voltage when it is supposed to be running. You need to take a volt meter and see if it is getting voltage. If it is getting voltage than it could be a bad motor. Also, if it is getting voltage check the capacitor and see if it test to what it is rated to be. You will need a capacitor tester to do this. And if it is not getting voltage to the motor when a call for cooling or heating then it is a fan control board or relay. Depends on what controls you have. Hope this helps.

A/C blower will not come on

It sounds to me, if your fan will not turn on at all, that it is either a bad motor, or a bad starting component. (capacitor, or starting relay)

Capacitor unable to read what size

If it's the condenser fan motor cap then look at the label on the fan motor for the size usally 3/5 mfd.
If its the compressor run cap then check the top of the compressor or the info. plate/sticker on the unit for the size of the cap. Let me know if you have any other questions.
