Question about Philips Magnavox 27MS343S 27" TV
There could of been a connection in the vertical circuit that has come loose during transport, another thing is i hope did not use a dolly underneath to load and unload this unit as they tend to crack the main board in and around the deflection circuit. A straight line means there is no vertical deflection for the CRT, if you look inside the vertical output wires going to the yoke on the neck are usually yellow and white check this connector to see if it just poped loose while transporting.

Check everything in the vertical output stage including the IC for that section, look for burnt spots, broken PCB tracks, leaky diodes, bad capacitors, open resistors, dry solder joints (both on the parts of the board and the pins of the vertical IC and jungle IC).
It could either be the vertical output IC, the jungle IC, one of the drive transistors that has short-circuited. A series of voltage and waveform measurements will give you some clue as the true nature of the problem.
The best way to determine if it is a part that has failed, or a bad connection is to lightly tap the board while the set is on with the handle of a small screwdriver - if it affects the line - causing it to bounce or almost produce a picture, then it's a simple case of dry joints. If tapping does not make any difference, then check components as above. Replace them if required.
