The router is blocking access to one computer asking for a network security key which is apparently different from the password. How do you find the security key?

Hi camavery,

If you want to the security key you need to access the Wireless Settings Page. To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access the router page just open a browser then type, the Default username is blank and the password is admin. Go to the Wireless Tab select Wireless Security and under Security Mode you can see the Network Key or Passphrase. The Network Key serves as a password on your network to make it secure. You can personalize the Network Key so that you can easily remember it. Then Save the settings.

If this works dont forget to say thanks. Thanks for using Fixya.

I want to change password for wifi network

Open up an Internet browser window on your computer system. To gain access to the default settings, type in the default IP address of the wireless router in your Internet browser's address bar and press enter. You must refer to the wireless router's documentation or navigate to the manufacturer's website for the correct IP address.

Type the default user name and password in the security dialog box that appears, then press Enter on your keyboard. Because different router manufacturers use different default user names and passwords, refer back to your router's documentation or support webpage for the correct information.

Navigate through the router administration pages to find the wireless router's administrator password settings. Change the default user name and password to a unique set so that possible unauthorized access to your router settings will not take place. Make sure to hit "Save Settings" to complete the change.

Set up your wireless security settings by navigating to the proper administration settings page. By default, wireless routers do not come with a password for connectivity access. Choose the appropriate wireless security level you need and type in a unique user name and password. Save these new settings and log out of the router's administration setup.

Write down the user names and passwords for both network access and the administration setup page. Keep these user names and passwords in a safe place.

Have a great day.

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.
If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Then click on wireless and then wireless security then change wep password because it is in * or # format then save settings and restart router then you can connect with that code.

first you need to find the default gateway of the router,u need to do this settings in the computer which is wired to the router, securing the network over a wireless connections is not suggested..
click on start, run, and type in cmd,hit enter,a black box should appear in that box type in ipconfig and hit enter, once you hit enter it will give u a lot of results check the default gateway the generic default gateway is,might be different in your case incase if you have setup in a different manner, now open an internet explorer page and remove the website name that present in the addess box,now without http or www type in the numbers,it will tell you to put in the user name and password, username is blank and password is admin (this is generic to all the delink routers provided you have not changed it earlier,if u ave changed it then put in the user name and password that you have setup, now it should open a dlink router page, now in that router page you will see an option that will says wireless, under wireless you will see an option that says security, click on security, and then under security page you will see security mode, from here you can use the security type that you want to use and then save the changes once it has saved the changes you wireless netwokr will be secured.
PS:make sure the computer is connected with a wire to the router when we are setting the security in the wireless network....

Scanned files are too big

Change the file format its saving in. different formats have different compression rations. Jpg images are smaller than bmp images. simply by changing it to jpg it will be 20 times smaller. To do this when click save and the save image box appers, in the format type select jpg or gif or what ever is avilable. Play around to see what gives you the smallest size. You can also use software like Photoshop, paint, and other image editors to change the format its being saved in.
