Hi all im using Canon SX260 HS which have gps and altitude feature. Im having problem where the altitude reading is not accurate. Any idea why is this happening or anything i can do to make it right. Using...

I think this has to do with the limitations of the GPS device build in your Canon. The device is not build to fly in a plane. You are moving to fast. I'm convinced if you are on a mountain the device will have no problem displaying the correct altitude. And when in a plane, the small antenna inside will have trouble finding good signals. Look what the Canon does, while you are still on the ground. See if it finds enough satellites in a short time. Check if the airplanes body works as a shield.

Need an emissions schamatic for my 1984 K10 silverado 305 engine

Unfortunately, there are 13 variations for this engine and year. Was this truck sold or modified for high altitude? Was it sold in California or modified to meet the CA emission standards? Does it have a manual or auto transmission? After narrowing down based on answers to these questions, there are still alternative configurations depending on the particular equipment, so look carefully at the diagrams to see which components are used on your engine. Sometimes you can match the 3 letter code for the diagram to letters in the VIN or a sticker in the engine compartment. Please let me know if you have questions.

My Optoma HD 72 flashes green like others have descibed, but if I run it in High Altitude mode it corercts the problem, although it it very noisey. Any ideas to what is causing this issue and how to fix...

sounds like the air flow is restricted and overheats using the regular fan speed.
check for air flow blockages inside and outside, filter problems, etc

I can do the same ride with the unit on different bikes and get a variation in total ascent by as much as 200 feet

When starting your device, it acquires sttaelites progressively, then the altitude accuracy is not good at the beginning, so starting altitude and final altitude are not identical if you ride a loop.
Other possible cause is that the cumulation of small errors makes cumulative altitude to vary.
Garmin connect offers a feature that corrects the altitude by smoothing the waypoints, and also by using topology points.
Go to http://connect.garmin.com/
Then upload your data from your garmin device to the garmin connect database, and use the feature named "altitude correction" bottom left of the screen where your ride is detailed

Optoma EP739 Projector Overheating

Set the projector to "high altitude mode." It will be noisier, but won't overheat. I wonder whether using one of those $10-$20 laptop coolers underneath it might be a quieter solution.

Adjusting meteo function

Yes, Sir. But remember when pilots reset their altimeter with the local altitude, the pressure value matches the moment wheather pressure. It will be wrong anyway, if you reset you altitude, but the pressure readings are still wrong. Im my case it is happening. The altutide is correct but the pressure of the watch does not match the local pressure. It is 20 hpa over it. By the way, I am an airline pilot.

Humming noise

Most times a humming noise in a Plasma tv is associated with high altitude. If you live over 3500 ft. and when you first turn on the unit is has a slight buzz and it gets worse as it warms up then you have what is referred to as high altitude sickness. You shoul contact the manufacture with this problem and the should exchange the unit with one tested for proper operation at high altitude. If you do not live at high altitude then there is a problem in the unit that should be diagnosed.

Incorrect altitude changes

Here is the link to the user manual for this watch if you need it; http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/k2100/manual.pdf page 12 gives you all the contact details for lacrosse. I couldnt find the info online to be sure, but some of these watches do have a separate pressure sensor for altitude and barometric pressure, and sometimes the path to one could get blocked or it could become faulty. I would contact la crosse and find a dealer to get the watch serviced, you could probably do it yourself but you need to get replacement seals from them anyway (these are important). ask them to check if the sensor is clogged, it happens sometimes. Hope this helps :)
