Here is a link to the manual:http://www.tascam.com/products/2488mkii;9,16,109,19.html Go down to Resources, Documents. As far as I know you have to map your input to a track. If you want Stereo you have to use 2 tracks. The owners manual explains it better than I can here.

Panning. Is there a way to pan Tom's from left to right through the R-L/mono outputs? As well as having the crash and just on the left and the ride on the right output

We can't give you any thing specific because you didn't tell us the make and model of whatever it is you're asking about. However, yes there are a number of instruments that will let you do that. I do it myself with a ///Roland d-110 by assigning the hard panning instruments to an individual out then do the pan on my mixer.

I'm looking to run 5 live instruments through the behringer xenyx 802, is this possible? Would the split channels force the instruments to pan? Any help would be much appreciated?

You could use the Left inout of one of the stereo channels. You can pan it with the balance control as needed... HOWEVER remember these are LINE LEVEL signal levels into the stereo jacks... so if you are using instruments with low output you MIGHT have to use a preamp to go into these jacks. Try it... nothing ventured, nothing gained. Using a keyboard into these jacks would NOT be a problem.

How can i setup mu xenyx 802 with my pc? i also hve fca202...

You can do it one of two ways when coupled with the FCA202. First, You can just come out of the main outs on the 802 via 1/4 in to the 202s 1/L in and 2/R in. Second, you could do two separate channels (ie. Vocal channel and Guitar Channel) using the L/R out on the 802. Use the pan knob to send the instrument to the selected channel. So, If your Guitar is on channel 1 pan hard left and you will only get it out of the left channel sending to channel 1 of the 202, and your vocal is in channel 2 pan hard right and you will only get it out of the left channel sending to channel 2 on the 202. Good Luck, Cody J.

When I plug in my XLR microphone to my Behringer PMP3000 it only works on the Main/Mon function not the Main L/R function, and when it is working it only amplifies through one speaker. WHY???

Check if the PAN control for that channel is set at 12 o'clock position.

You can "pan" the mic to either L or R speaker or anything between.

On the Main/Mon setting, the level sent to the Mon side is controlled ONLY by the Mon level pot for that channel.

I need to place all pan pots at 12:30 to 1:00 to get L = R on a mono (l = R) signal into my Mackis Firewire card. I would like L = R to be the normal DETENT in all pan pots. BTW: with all pan pots at...

The firewire card is all digital and you can't rewire it to bias the pan pots.

You need to do further troubleshooting of this problem before doing any changes.

Wire the L and R lines into the card with a wye connector to guarantee the same signal as a first step. With the pan's at 12 o'clock what do the VU's in the computer show?

There are many possible causes so finding the root cause is important. With the L and R wyed into the inputs, if the VU sensed by the computer is much different (over 1 Db different, then the interface needs work. The problem is likely in the input circuitry and they may have gain pots available. One could damage one side of the inout circuits by improper use or overdriving the input. ALWAYS connect all interconnected electronics to the SAME power source. If power is taken from receptacles at the opposite ends of a room this invites damage due to common mode noise spikes.

From the BTW thing you included, it sounds to me like there is a gain mismatch in the front end of the card... HOWEVER I need the test with the wye cable as you MIGHT have a condition of either a vast difference in the driving impedance between the two sides OR an insidious thing you can't see like a suspesonic feedback that you can't hear but is disturbing the VU indicators.

Venturing a guess as to probable cause, I suspect that the input circuits of one side may be damaged by a static discharge. DO NOT count on the VU led's being accurate as they MAY be totally independent of the conversion hardware.

Another gotcha that can bite is if you are using XLR cables and one has a broken or miswired signal line. Again. the wye cable test will verify this.

Hi I have a mackie sr series 24.4.2.b bus miximg console in for repair, most of it is working except that the right channel output is misssing on on sub outputs 1 and 5 and 3 and 7,i do not think its...

Remember that the subs are each MONO outputs. They do not have stereo outs. They can be used as pairs like 1-2 for stereo and those should PAN with the pan control at each channel assigned to a sub.

For mono's, the left channel is the one used.

Refer to the signal flow diagram for the Mackie mixers to analyze this. It probably is on page 28 of your manual.

For the subs, you can pan AT THE CHANNELS ASSIGNED between for instance sub1 and sub2. Note these work together as odds and evens.

Korg pa-50 no sound from right speaker but has sound from left

Several things to check:

If the speakers are cut off when externaal cables are connected to line outs, possibly the jack sensing switch for the right channel thinks that a plug is in there... you might cycle one in and out to see if that might fix.

Another thing is they LIKELY have a PAN control setting and it might be set full left. The external MP3 would NOT be under PAN control, only the keyboard voices would be affected by it.

Reverb problem

I highly doubt the reverb pan is dead, there are TL072 opamps on the input and output of the Reverb pan. Check those out. You can get the schematic from fenders website here. U6A and U6B are what you are looking for.
