Depends on how big the usb drive is and how big the file is... for example you can put a 12 gb file on an 8 gb flash drive. Good luck, Bar1no.

You failed to mention what operating systems are involved. What does the work computer use as an operating system. The file system format of the USB may be say as an example ntfs windows while as a hypothetical the work computer could be apple o/s using a different file system or even maybe a unix system. You may need to reformat the usb stick to be the format file system used by the work computer. Also there could be a policy in place to prevent usb sticks working on work computers to protect intellectual property or to protect against virus transferance.

I have purchased an 8GB TDK and unfortunately when I delete the files and try to add new ones, I receive a message that there is not enough free space. I am using a Mac. What should I do!!!! Ian.

Try to format the USB flash drive Then you will clear it of al the files it has, if you don't want to lose the files, copy them into your computer, and copy them back after the formatting is complete, after formatting, I'd suggest you'd see the properties of the flash drive, to see the memory and the occupation of the memory, from time to time.

It might just be too small. Open My Computer , right click on the flash and select Properties- it will tell you its actual size and how much free space there is on it .

How could a brand new usb flash drive not have enough space to store my first digital photo

It depends on the amount of space on the USB drive and the amount of photos you have to store. For example if you 3GB of photos and the USB drive is 2 GB that will not work.

Error message states that there is not enough room

One possibility: you have too many files in the directory. USB flash drives are usually formatted in FAT32 and thus stuck with the limits of the standard. Try moving some of your files into folders.

Second check for a encrypted partition locking part of the disc. If ReadyBoost capable a section of the memory set aside to do ReadyBoost for Windows Vista or Win7 (you'll need to release the ReadyBoost on the computer that dedicated the space).

I hope this helps.

5.84 GB will not fit on the 8GB Store N Go

Easy Fix.. You need to reformat your USB File System to NTFS rather than FAT32 (Default). FAT32 limits the size of all downloads to 4 GB. NTFS has no upper limit so you could download an 8GB file, if you wanted..... FAT32 is the default on the unit you have. Easy fix.... right click on your drive, click 'format', 'file system' change to NTFS and click 'start'. That's it ! ! ! !

Can't transfer Jpeg files to Flash Drive

A flash drive should not discriminate over what file you try to put on it, so long as the drive is big enough to store the file in question. Don't try to write to the flash drive directly, always transfer files already stored on your hard drive to it.
