Question about Samsung SCH-A850 Cellular Phone

Open Question

How do I clear all data from my Samsung SCH-A850 so that I can donate it? The only menu option I found in Tools & Settings resets factory settings but doesn't delete personal data like contacts, call history, etc. How do I delete ALL that data?

Let me elaborate. On your phone press the:

1. Menu--scroll to Tools & Settings---press OK
2. Look for Security, press OK
3. Enter the last 4 digits of your phone #, or whatever you set the lock code to.
4. There should be an option to delete contacts. Becareful not to press the Reset Default option, for it will erase everything (ringtones, pix, filx, screensavers, etc..)

**If the Security option is not seen in the Tools and Settings, then choose Call Settings or Phone Settings. It should be in one of these.

I need to reset my phone to factory standard how do I do it?

To reset your phone to factory defaults:
In the main menu, go to Settings & Tools and select Phone Settings. Select Security and enter your 4-digit code. (If you don't know it, it's probably the last 4 digits of your mobile phone number.) Once you've entered the code and clicked OK, select Restore Phone and then click Yes on the confirmation screen.
Just be sure you've copied or backed up any data or contact information from the phone before restoring it to defaults, because all of the data on the phone will be wiped clean.
