1. Put your bootable XP CD into the drive and start your PC. (Make sure that you have selected ‘CD’ as your first boot device)
 2. After booting up, the first screen will indicate that Setup is inspecting your system and loading files.
 3. Press ENTER to Setup Windows when you get to the Welcome to Setup screen.
 4. After accepting the license agreement, the Setup window will give you the option to do a Repair.
 5. Use UP and DOWN arrows to select your XP installation and press “R” to continue with Repair.
 6. Once this is done, you will have the option to reboot. Reboot the PC now.
 7. During the reboot, DO NOT press any key to boot from the CD again. Setup will automatically resume and you will notice Installing Windows highlighted.
 8. Look at the lower left hand side of the screen and when you see the Installing Devices progress bar, press SHIFT + F10. You should now get a command console.
 9. At the prompt, type NUSRMGR.CPL and press Enter.
 10. Now pick the account you need to change and remove or change your password as you prefer. If you want to log on without having to enter your new password, you can type control userpasswords2 at the prompt and choose to log on without being asked for password. After you’ve made your changes close the windows, exit the command box and continue on with the Repair (Ensure you have your Product key handy).
 11. Once the Repair is done, you will be able to log on with your new password (or without a password if you chose not to use one or if you chose not to be asked for a password).

Hope that helps!

Hi,

This is often the case when it was somebody else who installed the Operating System in your PC. Normally, you, as the owner/main user, were likewise given a Username/Account with administrator privileges. Should this be not the case, then your options are:
1. consult with your dealer or whoever installed the OS and get the password. You may need to prove ownership of the PC;
2. do a clean fresh re-install of the OS using the recovery CDs that came with the PC when it was new or even an OEM and use the CD key printed in the Microsoft sticker at the side or rear of your PC;
3. it is possible to remove the admin password assuming you can boot from the CD. Being a gray area, you again need to provide proof of ownership before further information maybe provided.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

What is the Windows XP Administrator Password?

Windows XP, the most popular versions of Windows, was widely installed by PC users. Do you remember after you installing your first copy of Windows XP, how long did it require you to realize that you didn't know the administrator password? I vaguely remembered that it was about a week before I needed to make some changes in the file system. It suddenly came to me to be logged on as an administrator, but I do not know the password of the administrator!

Luckily, Windows XP (both Home and Professional versions) have a "hidden" administrator account which is autogenerate when install. This account usually doesn't show up on the logon screen and most people are totally unaware of its existence. Usually it is ok because we didn't need to user this account very often, only when we don't know the administrator password, need access to the Windows XP recovery console or boot into Windows XP safe mode, the default Windows XP administrator password would come in handy.

What is the Default Administrator Password in Windows XP?

Knowing the default password of Windows XP administrator account would be very useful.

Try to leave the password blank. Simply press Enter without typing anything.

The default Windows XP Administrator password is defined to blank during the initial Windows XP installation process.

Enter the password for your account. Using this wizard, a floppy disk or USB flash drive can be used to create a specific password reset disk for specific user account on a specific Windows XP computer. The password reset disk can only be used with the computer it was created on and it can also be reused to reset the account's password multiple times. However, you need to know the password of the account you want to create the reset disk for, and you must create the reset disk before you forget the administrator password
Here is how to reset XP administrator password with the XP password reset disk:

Insert the XP password reset disk to the computer

Click the Use your password reset disk item on the XP logon screen to start the Password Reset Wizard. Instead, there are several things you can try to get access to your windows. SmartKey Windows Password Recovery is your ticket. This password recovery tool not only works on Windows XP, but also on all releases of Windows NT/2000/Vista/ 7 and Windows Server 2003/2008. It works by booting from a CD/DVD or USB flash drive and reset the forgotten Windows XP administrator password.

NOTE: If you change the administrator password on a Windows XP or Windows Vista system with the Encrypted File System (EFS), all of the encrypted files will become inaccessible. The password for the Administrator account is used to create the EFS encryption key. Changing the Administrator account back to using the original password should restore access to the encrypted files, but I have never tried it.

If you only need to blank the Windows XP Administrator password, here are the basic steps:

Download and install SmartKey Windows Password Recovery software.

Burn the software to CD/DVD or USB flash drive.

Insert newly created CD/DVD and reboot your computer from the CD/DVD or USB flash drive

Reset the forgotten Windows XP password, remove the CD/DVD or USB flash drive and then reboot the computer

Having the capability to reset forgotten XP administrator passwords and regain access to a locked computer can be a great time saver, but should only be tried by an IT professional. you may probably make things worse rather than better if you use sophisticated system or manipulation tools

Article Source:http://recoverlostpassword.com/article/windows-xp-administrator-password.html
If you can handle Hirons, this one's a breeze. Licence key purchase is required though. Nor does it specify EFI / GUID. Maybe contact them before purchase.

What is the administrator password of acer aspire 5738Z?

There is no default password for Administrator user.
Normally you can set the Administrator during installation. If you don't know or you didn't install the system yourself ask who install the windows for the password.

Changing your administrator password

To change the administrator password, you must know the current administrator password. If you're logged in as the administrator, open Account preferences and click the Change Password button.

If you don't remember the password and automatic login is turned off, you can reset the administrator password using the Mac OS X User Install disc.

IMPORTANT: Because a user with the Mac OS X install disc can gain unrestricted access to your computer, you should keep the disc in a safe place.
To reset the administrator password using the Mac OS X disc:

 1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc and restart the computer.
 2. When you hear the startup tone, hold down the C key until you see the spinning gear.
 3. When the Installer appears, choose Utilities > Reset Password.
 4. Follow the onscreen instructions to change the password.
 5. Quit the Installer and restart your computer while holding down the mouse button to eject the disc.

Be sure to change your login password in Keychain Access to match your new password.

Have you tried a blank password for the administrator. Just press enter when administrator pops up. If that does not work, try administrator. That should solve your problem.
