You don't have a television, you have a monitor. Monitors don't have tuners built in, they only "monitor" signals you provide to it from other sources. That said.... most cable boxes have A/V outputs on them and you monitor has inputs for this. They are color coded yellow for video, and red & white for right and left channels of audio. Use the box for this set. I don't know if you have another set, your description only mentions the one, but if you do, hopefully it has a tuner built in and depending on your cable provider you may be able to get the basic channels.

You can ask you cable operator to give you a box that has ether hdmi or RGB compsit outputs simple as that. I just do not see why this does not have a tuner in it I am kinda worndering if this just is not a monitor but can you please leave me the model number.

But you can hook it up to RGB or hdmi you just need to ask your cable operator for that type of box simple as that.

SOURCE: Replace the connection box

I'm pretty sure that pretty much no Tv's have an upgrade to HDMI.

While looking for a manual I noticed that the version on the maxent website does have a HDMI possibility.

SOURCE: is there any way to connect basic cable to the tv

Recently, I dropped HBO with my cable company and there dont have a box. Since the Maxent 42 is only a monitor and doesnot have a tuner...there is no where to plug cable from the wall to the tv.
Solution...plug cable from wall to VCR/DVD and then use RCA cables (Red,White and Yellow cables) from output from VCR/DVD. works great.

How do I set the TV up for satellite TV

The TV will likely require a Satellite TV converter box. The output of the box should be mated to the best matching input of your TV.

That order would be: 1) HDMI, 2) Component (RGB) + Stereo Audio, 3) S-Video 4) Stereo Audio, 5) Composite (Yellow) and Stereo Audio 6) RF (Coaxial).

When selecting 6) RF (Coaxial), you would normally select an output channel on the Sat Box (Ch3 or Ch4) and set the TV tuner to the same channel. A standard coax cable would be installed between the Sat box connected and the TV Ant connector.

All other TV inputs would match the one you used (HDMI, Componet, etc.

I got an LG LCD HD TV from friend with a power chord. That is it. I am without any other cables. What do I need to watch netflix on this ? can i hook my ipad to it some how and watch netflix on TV ? If yes,...

maybe just an RGB video cable if all you want is a picture, or an HDMI cable (pricier) if you want an HD Picture AND sound from the TV. it looks like a USB jack but a USB plug won't fit it.

WE JUST BOUGHT ROKU , HOOKED IT UP , CAN'T GET ANYTHING ELSE TO COME UP

Hi,

You must match the TV's input connections and the Roku output on your remote. This means if the Roku's output is connected to your TV's "HDMI 2" (or A/V 2, etc.), you must be able to select HDMI 2 (or A/V 2, etc) on the TV - either with your remote or pressing a button on the TV itself.

Sometimes, the TV will skip over unused inputs when it was first set up. This is done to reduce the number of button presses to go from say "HDMI 1" to "HDMI 4" by programming OUT the HDMI 2 & HDMI 3 choices.

You'll need to program IN the input that your TV uses to connect the Roku if it isn't already available. You MUST connect cables properly if not using HDMI. RGB is Red-Green-Blue and must be connected to RGB jacks at the Roku and TV for a picture and the the White & Red (left and right) audio must connect the the corresponding Red / White audio jacks - or it will provide strange results.

Make sure the power plug is connected to an outlet that is ON and connected to the power jack on the Roku box itself. Unless you have a defective Roku box or TV, it SHOULD work. You can try using a different HDMI or A/V jacks on the TV to determine if it is the TV jacks or not.

Good luck!

How can i get the surround sound to work.

You need to get an HDMI cable going from your Cable Box to the Surround Sound system. If you are low on HDMI ports, you can RGB cables for Video.

Your quote: " I have a HDMI cable plugged into the TV and the Cable box." move that cable to Surround Sound and Cable Box, and use RGB cable or HDMI to go from Cable box to TV!

If your Surround Sound has no HDMI, use a Fibre Optic to go Cable to Surround. It will work Great!

Good Luck!

Connecting HD cable box to DVR too HDTV

When I hooked up my HD cable box using an HDMI cable, I had to go into the cable screen menus and select HDMI output. You may have to do something similar when using an S-video cable. Your DVD recorder doesn't seem to have an HDMI input, so you'll have to use the S-video or (worst case) composite video (red, white, yellow cords). Your cable box may also be scrambling the signal so that you can't record. That may be why you can record by bypassing the cable box.
