REPLACING KEYBOARD OF A ACER 3002 LCI LAPTOP

Replace the inside of the keyboard with a new piece. One of the major problems with Acer keyboards is that the plastic pieces holding the keys in place become loose or broken. You can find a cheap keyboard from Papatek.com or an electronics store. Simply take apart the new keyboard, pull the keys off your keyboard, lay the plastic piece on top and replace your keys.

Laptop keyboard is not responding & as far as I know no liquids have been spilled on it. Is there a key that my son might have used to disable it? It is a HP laptop

probably your son might lock the keyboard what you have to do is that on the keyboard you will see where they wrote Fn key beside the ctrl key hold or press the key, then on top of the functional key i.e F1 to F12 among those keys you will see where they draw or shown something like key or padlock press the key in other to open your keyboard.

In case it doesn't work try the second option.

well, what i can say is that try to loose the laptop you will see where they wrote kb at the back of the laptop then loose those screw after loosing it, then bring out the keyboard with the flex then dust it out.
if it those not work again change the keyboard.

I cleaned my keyboard, but keys `-1-q-a-z won't work.

You may have one of two options 1- these Keys are loose and should be pushed down you will hear in old keyboards a type of CLICK 2- in recent keyboards you should press these keys several times.
if it has been cleaned with a non volatile liquid you should be sure that the keyboard has been completely dry specially at these keys

Tab key hanging loosely unable to use

I take it that the TAB key has come loose from the keyboard. Usually when the keys come off a laptop keyboard, they can be clipped back into place. However, the keys usually have a scissor like support on the underside of the key, which have small plastic pins that need to be latched onto the keyboard itself.

To be honest they are a pain to reattach, so if you have the patience and a steady hand, give it a go, otherwise I would get a repair tech/engineer to look at it. It may be that the key is damaged, in which case you will more than likely need to replace the keyboard, as key caps don't usually get sold separately.

Loose key

Is only the cap loose, but you can still operate that key?

On most laptop keyboards, the letters are caps on the keyboard button. They are held in place by small plastic tabs on the keyboard structure. The cap snaps in place and is held by the tabs. If the tabs are broken, the cap stays loose.

Some keyboards use a small slider that moves as you depress the key, which means you can't glue it.

Laptop keyboards are replaceable and can be purchased cheaply on ebay or some repair sites.

My ibm thinkpad key ""Q" came loose

Situation 1. The key cap and key retainer fell off the keyboard and you cannot figure out how to assemble them back. keyboard-key-repair-1.jpg Carefully remove the cap from any other working key so the key retainer stays connected to the keyboard.
keyboard-key-repair-2.jpg Take a closer look at the key retainer, it’s connected to the keyboard at four different points.keyboard-key-repair-3.jpg Assemble the disconnected retainer the same way as one on the keyboard and put it back in place.keyboard-key-repair-4.jpg Put the key cap on the retainer and snap the cap back in place.keyboard-key-repair-5.jpg
