Ti nspire calculator. calculator will not turn on. installed new batteries, calculator only 2 years old with moderate use by daughter for school. ti cares sent me a link on troubleshooting, methods did not...

I have fixed several TI calculators for a school that had loose or corroded battery contacts. Cleaning the contacts and bending them a bit to get a good grip on the batteries got them going. You can try this on yours and see if you have any luck. Also try another set of batteries on the off chance one of the new ones you installed is bad (it does happen, and isn't one of the first things you'd think to check) or use a battery tester. If the batteries are good and the calculator still doesn't work, something inside has failed. Either go for the refurb or (if that specific model isn't required for school) see what similar brands and models are available. There might be something suitable for less than the TI price.

The TI 83 Plus was purchased in Sep 09 for my high school freshman. It hasn't been used much and now will not turn on. I've replaced the batteries twice. Any suggestions? Can it be repaired? Thanks

If the batteries are rechargable they may need to be removed and recharged. Lack of use does not mean that they hold the charge forever.

I don't know but try it.

My calculator got stolen. What do I do?

Tell all your friends, in case somebody 'borrowed' it and forgot to return it. You have to report the theft to your parents, your teacher, your school principal, maybe even the police. If you cannot find it, use your money allowance to buy a new calculator.

refund or exchange at the store you got it from...

Screens are replaceable if you take it apart, and it's not hard to do if you go slow and steady. But trying to find a screen to replace it with is hard. Sorry to hear about your loss..

Good luck
