Yes. just keep working the kinks out and it will come unties, or drill out one of the rivets. J.

Repairing chain

You can repair/rejoin chain, before doing this you need to check the condition of the rest of the chain, if it is badly worn it is not worth repairing, to repair it you need pre set and plain tie straps suitable for the pitch and gauge of the chain being repaired

Can you make a 14" chain from a 16" one?? I have

You can if you have a breaker, some new pre set tie straps , and a spinner, this as you can see is not something you can do at home easily, the local chainsaw shop should be able to help you with this, however will make a charge which may be as much as a new chain.

How do i replace pull string on craftsman 20/14 chainsaw

Remove the cover containing the cord rewind mechanism, untie the cord's knot in the center of the mechanism and remove the old cord by unwinding it from the pulley. Thread the new cord through the hole it goes through on the outside and wind the recoil mechanism so that it has sufficient spring tension to rewind the new cord. Use something appropriate to immobilize the pulley while you thread the cord through the center and tie the knot. Slowly allow the pulley to retract and wind the new cord onto it. Replace the cover. As an aside, sometimes when the cord breaks and the pulley snaps back quickly, the rewind spring can break.

My chainsaw leaks oil out of a small hole or drain just below the base of the bar. is there anyway to way to stop this

are you sure you aren't talking about the chain oiler system? There is to be a small amount of oil to lubricate the bar and chain.

The pull cord will not retract back into the saw. When I tried to start the saw, I pulled the cord and now it did not retract back. It is all the way out and will not recoil.

When I have had this happen it means that you need to manually rewind the cord and put some additional tension on the take up pulley. To do this you'll have to open the saw up and untie the handle. Turn the pulley like one turn, put the rope back through the hole and tie the handle back on. All this is done while maintaining tension on the rope.

Chain oil is pumping into area where pipe goes under square rubber bush, but not onto the top reservior so the chain can pick it up. Behind the aluminium plate.

Hello. If you haven't done so already ,remove the bar and chain and make sure the slot in the back aluminum plate lines up with the oil outlet hole if so ok. Use a thin tool (utility knife works) and scrape inside the chain groove of the bar to clean it out.Make sure the oil inlet hole in the bar is clean. If it doesn't work after doing this you may have a cracked oil tank, disconected oil line,or worn out oil pump.

Chain brake will not reset

Hello. If you haven't done so already remove the bar and chain. The chain brake mechanism is behind the clutch.Clean the whole area with compressed air or a scraper and a shot of engine cleaner if you have some. Look for broken, bent ,stuck or missing parts.

Oil has stopped flowing from the tank to the chain.

Hello, Try cleaning the area near the chain where the oil is delivered. Scrape it out well, and then clean the area with a spray of WD-40

Best regards, W/D
