Try resetting the router by unplugging it from the outlet and from the modem. Also reset the modem by unplugging it for a few minutes also. After you do that it may take several attempts for it to reconnect with your laptop.

Temporarily disable the firewall and see if that works for internet connection. If so, reinstall firewall(highly recommend Zonealarm) and try again.

I purchased an acer aspire have net router every thing but just by pushing the fn and f3 button still cant seem to get open launch manager to turn on wi-fi help please

Hi,

The best way to check if the computer can access to Internet is to boot the computer to "Safemode with Networking", to do so, restart the computer and as soon as it restarts keep on tapping F8 key, now select "Safemode with Networking" from the Advance boot menu. Try to connect to internet. If you are able to connect to Internet then the issue is with the firewall on you computer, contact the firewall manufacturer or settings. If you are still unable to connect to Internet, then the internet setting are not correct, you may need to contact the ISP.

Thanks and regards,

Hi i have just bought an acer one notebook and am trying to get it to connect to my home wireless network - currently just my pc is on it. I follow the network setup wizard and the network is 'seen'...

Check the anti-virus settings to make sure that the firewall or any firewall that you are using is not blocking a connection to the internet. That is the first thing I would do. Well, actually, the first thing I would do is to re-do the internet connection wizard thing again after you have reset your wireless router. As long as you follow the steps and put in your home network name and correct network key, you really should be rockin' the net without having to contact your local wireless provider. But if none of what I suggested solves the problem, you may have to tackle that beast called "Customer Service". Good luck to you.

Make sure the firewall software on the acer allows the wireless connections, try turning the firewall off for a moment and also disable the wired connection.

Make sure the network is safe or allowed most likely firewall blocking.

Need Help with new Wireless Router

more info needed.
Are you on cable or dsl? Can you access the router set-up screen? Can you ping the router from the computer? Whose tech support did you call? Are you using wireless or ethernet connection to router? Can you access the net if you hookup using a ethernet cable? What OS are you using?
You migh try disconnecting the modem line for a few minutes and then reconnecting it to reset the IP address your ISP gives you. If you were using the net successfully without the router, you may want to clone your computer's MAC to the router (DSL).

Can't share network resources

hi, the problem you have is the one of the computers or both have a firewall or antivirus software that will be blocking it, you will need to reconfigure the firewall settings, and also check the firewall settings built into the router, easiest way to test is ping the other computers ip address and see the response

have a good new year

HELP!! Connection Issues

I think Tech Support is hiring if you want a job. If your using DHCP you can try to assign an IP address. Assign a channel on the router not auto-select. But it does sound like just a weak connection. Not hardware related. I'm sure your laptop is just fine. Without spending alot of money, try another brand router. If it works, great. If you get the same results (bad connection), take the router back and get your money back. If all else fails, take your laptop to a place that has a wireless internet connection (Circuit City, BestBuy, StarBucks, Etc..) and see if it works there. You may need to change the location of the router.
