Im not able to boot from os cd the bios can see rom drive and hard drive but im not able to boot iv'e tried f12 but no joy can you help?

hi there.

If you go to the bios on start up and select cd rom drive as your primary boot and then restart. Your computer will then try to boot first from the cd rom drive and second from the hard drive. If it fails to boot from the disk then this would lead me to believe that either the disk is unreadable by the drive or that the cd rom drive itself is unable to read the disk.

I am unable to install my Hallmark Card Delux. I receive an error 1305.I asked this question last night and got disconnected because of power outage

Thanks for posting to Fixya and it is my pleasure to guide you.

1. May be a problem with the CD. Turn the CD over under a bright light and look for scratches. If no scratches then ok. Try the CD with another pc if you can.. if it still has the error, then the CD is bad.

2. Does the CD Rom run other CD's without any errors during installing then the CD is ok and the CD Rom Drive is the problem? Do other CD's install without errors? There may be an intermittent problem with the CD Rom. The hook up may be loose. You will have to pull the pc apart and check the ribbon to the CD Rom and to the motherboard.

Good luck and please post back that you are successful and click thumbs up of your success or that I can be more helpful.

Boot from the Windows XP CD-ROM.
Choose 'R' to "repair".
This will start the "Recovery Console".
Run the 'DISKPART' utility to create a new partition.
Remove the CD-ROM, and then type 'exit' to shutdown the Recovery Console.
Insert the first of the 10 "recovery" CDs, and start the reload/recovery.

Getting problem in formatting the IBM PC

check if the cable from the cd rom connected to your ibm pc if its ok , also check the master, slave configuration pins into the back of your cdrom. make sure that theres no conflict between the hard disk and the cdrom. Your cd rom may probably cannot be detected. make sure that it is working first. then install the hard disk. The hard disk must be in primary master and the cd rom must be in primary slave. then try booting it to your cd rom. also, try checking if your windows xp setup disk is bootable, it means that it can boot from cd rom. PM me if you have other experiences after doing what i adviced. Thank You.. heres my email. jmizpahadonai777@gmail.com

Brand new computer and i did not install the adobe it came with the computer Vista basic and i get the 1311 error message when i try to run adobe computer 1 day old !

no big problm if u comp is new r old...

When you try to install Adobe Acrobat 6, 7, 8, or 3D on Windows, the installer returns the error message "Error [1311, 1335 or 2350]. Source file not found: [drive name]:\ Adobe Acrobat [version]\data1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it." If you click Retry, the installer returns the error message "Cannot find the file Adobe Acrobat [version]\data1.cab."
Solution Perform one or more of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Check the Acrobat CD-ROM.

Make sure that the CD-ROM from which you are installing is free of dirt and debris. If necessary, clean the CD-ROM with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Solution 2: Temporarily disable anti-virus software, and then install Acrobat.

For instructions, see the documentation for the anti-virus software or contact the manufacturer.
Solution 3: Extract the compressed installation files, and then install Acrobat.

  1. Right-click the folder and choose Extract All.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. To install Acrobat, double-click the Setup.exe file located in the folder that contains the extracted files.
Solution 4: Uninstall the CD-ROM drive and let Windows redetect it, and then install Acrobat.

  1. Right-click My Computer and choose Properties.
  2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
  3. Expand the DVD/CD-ROM drives section.
  4. Right-click each device listed under DVD/CD-ROM drives and choose Uninstall. Click OK to confirm.
  5. Close Device Manager and restart the computer.
  6. After Windows redetects the DVD/CD-ROM drive(s), insert the Acrobat CD into the CD-ROM drive and install Acrobat.
Solution 5: Install Acrobat from the desktop.

  1. Insert the Acrobat CD into the CD-ROM drive.
  2. Copy the Acrobat folder from the Acrobat CD to the Desktop.
  3. Double-click setup.exe in the Acrobat folder on the Desktop, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
Additional Information Errors 1311, 1335, and 2350 occur when the Acrobat installer is unable to access the necessary files from the CD-ROM drive. These same errors may also occur if antivirus software interferes with an installation or if the installation files are compressed.

I try to install an operating system to my machine but it is unable to see the bootable compact disk.

Please check the CD whether the cd is a bootable one or not in any other machine. If it is bootable and is not running on your system the problem is with your drive. Please arrange for a different bootable cd if it is not working even on different machine, And do remember to keep the first boot device in bios as cd rom drive
