How can I unlock my dvd player to play American... (by 3 users)

Hi,
Please can you help me? My daughter who lives in the States sent me some dvds for my birthday & I've discovered to my dismay that my player isn't multi-regional so I can't watch them! Please can you send me the unlock code so's I can watch them?

I think it is against the law for shops in the UK to sell multi-region DVD players. I could not find a hack for this player that worked.
It is possible to convert it on your PC and burn it as a region free Disc.
