Question about Refrigerators
I work on commercial not home refrigerators. That being said I would look on the back of the frig for a panel most of the time are about 5 inches by 5 inches and have a whole in the middle that will fit a screwdriver. The whole is to get the timer out of defrost.
If it's not there it may be down underneath with the compressor. It will be a small box with 4 or 5 wires out of it.
I hope this helps

Sounds like you simply have a defrost problem going on.
Without the model number that looks like this 321.456789 example I am not sure
what parts you will need. If you can find your correct model number I can show
you what to look for. Things that fail with a defrost problem are defrost
heater, defrost thermostat and defrost control or timer, Thanks Sea Breeze
