The burner may not be burning right and leaving a gas odor but you cannot smell CO it is totally odorless... that is why it is so dangerous...
Check for lint build up in the air shutter of the burner...

When burning on low the bottom corners have a blue flickering flame and it gives off a propane smell

A blue flame is good, but depending on the heater there should be no smell. As I am sure you know, Carbon Monoxide is a great hazard. Any fitted flame heater should have adequate exhaust ventilation. You should also have carbon monoxide detectors on all levels.

So when a vented gas water heater smells lke kerosine, is there any way to fix it? Or is it time to buy a new one. This ine is only 2 years old.

I am a little concerned here to hear this one, you should never smell anything from a hot water tank! Have you ever had the flue,or chimney checked out? Just a guess but being that this heater is two years old I would say it is a venting problem. Carbon monoxide poisoning comes to mind here, so please make sure you have a clean flue, good and adequate size exhaust pipe off the top and solid connection to the chimney/ exhaust vent.Might I also suggest a carbon monoxide detector in the area of this heater please! You do know that it is an odorless, yet silent killer and there is no price to great to save a life.

Dryer seems to run OK and it heats up but the clothes are damp. Even after running them thru two or three times. Exhaust is clean and clear but there is not much lint build up either.

I know you say the exhaust is clear but please check again.start unit and go outside to vent and check for good warm airflow..80% of clothes drying concerns are related to restricted air flow not helping to get rid of the moisture in the clothes

The dryer will no longer dry. the last time i used the dryer within 5 minutes there was a burning smell , and now the dry will no longer dry my clothes. every time that i use the dryer i always clean out...

Most likely your venting is kinked or clogged.  First check at the back or your dryer for kinks.  If it is not clogged then check outside your house where the venting comes out with the dryer running if you feel strong airflow then the venting is clear.

Clothes smell like gas when dryed

Are you using natural gas or propane?  Make sure the lint filter is clean and vent pipe is clear to the outside.  Also if the pipe is too long or has many bends it can reduce the airflow.

Smoke Rollin out of my vents! HELP!

I think if it was carbon monoxide, you would have your wings by now ! .....or horns ?

Sounds more like coolant, is your Bronco smelling rather fishy these days ??

If so, it´s definitely your heater matrix leaking !

A Jar of Bars Leaks, in the cooling system might work wonders.

Good Luck !

A FixYa rating would be nice !

Dryer not drying clothes

Make sure that the flex hose going out from the dryer is not blocked. You should check it from both the back of the dryer and all the way to wear it vents outside. It could also be the thermostat, which is cheaper to replace than buying a new dryer.

Dryer won't dry

hi BethandRoss,
You have a loss of airflow from the dryer. Two things can casue this.
1. You vent going outside is blocked off with lint, bird nest or something.
2. your blower wheel is broken.

for problem 1. pull the dryer out and take the vent off. Start the dryer and feel the amount of airflow coming out. If you have none then go to problem 2. If airflow is good take a look in your vent going outside. Somewhere between that vent and outside you have a blockage. Clear it out or replace it if needed.

for problem 2. I would need your model number to give the exact direction to replace it. Since all dryer come apart abit different, and all dryers have different blowers, I would have to know the brand or model to help you further.
I really hope this will FixYa.
Have a nice night Mike Anderson
