Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

1 Answer

I just loaded windows xp pro on this computer that someone gave me. Its telling me that I don't have a sound device. I think that the sound device is built-in the motherboard. I check inside for the motherboard info and this is what I found. Foxconn LS-36 - REV A00 and a serial number. CN-IRF703-13740-715-00P5. I don't have sound for anything. Can you help please. Many thanks in advance.

If it has built in sound you would see the familiar RCA jacks in the back of the PC, if not that NO sound - but almost all MOBO have integrated sound these days.

Next question do you have speakers (external or internal ) hooked up properly?

Likely to be a driver issue - or the sound card is faulty

Windows xp drivers for toshiba l505-s5990

Take some time to polish-up your resume', since any company that is telling you to "downgrade" is a Neanderthalic place to work, especially if they cannot supply you with the "correct" (in their limited vision) tools (namely a laptop running XP) to enable you to work for them.

Some computers have "designed for Vista" or "designed for Windows 7" decals. This means that the manufacturer will not create device-drivers for the hardware inside the computer for the "older" versions of Windows.

So, you may need to purchase an external USB WI-FI adapter,
which will be sold with a CD-ROM that has device-drivers for Windows XP, and install the drivers, then connect the USB device.

Activation key for windows xp pro. have programme

If your computer came with it loaded on it, there should be a small sticker somewhere on the computer with the key.

If you purchased it after you purchased the computer the key should be in the documentation that came with the CD.

Gigabyte Ga-K8N Pro Windows XP Installation

Download "MEMTEST86+" from the Internet.
One version boots from a diskette;
another version boots from a CD-R (that you have created).

Either way, make MEMTEST do a "full" test of the RAM in your computer -- bad RAM can cause "unpredictable" crashes.

hi your computer is not seing the driver of your sound card, you may need to download updated driver for it, you can search for the drivers of your sound card online, you can also find that on the computer manufacturers website.

to see the status of your devices go to device manager for more info.

right click on my computer icon>properties>hardware tab>device manager.

you can also uninstall, reinstall, and update device drivers here.

hope this helps.
