Power led lights up but nothing else works and will not power up. Is there a motherboard fuse or thermostat that I can check or solder?

Lights come on with either batter or AC but not booting.

I tried draining the power as HP described: remove AC and battery and hold power button on for 1 minute....n.g.

Is there a battery on the mother board I can remove and put back or drain further?

My guess is to check the battery. If your laptop allows it (you won't know until you try), remove the battery and use AC power and try turning it on. If the laptop works correctly through AC power and without the battery, try to replace the battery to see if the problem is caused by the battery. Remember that all batteries lose their ability to store power after every recharge until they just drain power.

Otherwise, I don't have a clue what the problem is.

What can cause if the ac control is not showing light in sequoia 2010 and what can we do to solve it

If just the light is out and it still works, live with it. That part is probably $400. If nothing works, Check fuses, then see if it has power to the plug. The lights can be replaced. They are LED and have to be soldered on.

Why doesn't it start?

i am not sure what you mean by resolved LED errors. These lights in the back tell you that the BIOS is checking your hardware and the way to correct that is by replacing the faulty hardware. For example you determine memory is bad and you replace it. Make sure that is connected properly. You can do this with all hardware. Disconnect everything except the cables from the power supply to the motherboard and try. contact me if you wish at Ccarlos4545@aol.com.

The led on the front won't light, and I have power connected, but nothing. Is there a reset somewere?

I am assuming you are trying to power up an installed motherboard, based on the category selection. You say that you have power connected. That means that you have connected the 20 (24) pin main connector and the 4 or 8 pin CPU power connector to the motherboard. Have you connected the front panels controls to the motherboard header? There are connections for the power switch, power LED, HDD LED, reset switch (optional). They must be connected in order for the motherboard to start. THe HDD and Power LED connections are polarity-based, so if you hook them upo backwards, their respective LED will not light. The HDD LED plug is usually red and white with the red being on the positive (+) terminal. The Power LED plug is usually green and white with the green wire going to the positive terminal. The power switch and reset switch wires can be connected either way as they are not polarized.

My compaq won't turn on and nothing shows that the current is in but the adaptor works properly

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

First check the power adapter.

If the motherboard is not booting then what is the solution for it?

To detect motherboard problem you need first test your memory, remove any drives and try to boot to BIOS, if nothing on LCD then try to boot with external monitor, if there is no any video signal output then look to led indicators, if there no light then you need to test power adapter, power socet on motherboard and fuse on moserboard near power socet, if power OK then try to reball south bridge or replace it, also you need to do it with 100% working CPU and memory!

When pluged in the On/Standby LED will light. When pressing power the On/Standby LED with flash then go solid but nothing apears on the display. I can select what speakrs to use (A or B). All the LED's...

Most likely the unit does not receive power from main transformer. Possible several reasons:
- bad power transformer
- bad main internal fuse 7-8amp. Bad fuse most likely because of one of the channel is blown and shorts the power, so before installing new fuse good idea to check all channels by meter or at least visually for burned parts
- bad power relay
- bad connection, cracked soldering joints

I have an Abit IC7-G motherboard. Machine has died with no reaction from pressing power on and reset buttons. Power cable in is OK and when connected, green light behind IDE1 socket lights up (which says...

Most obvious problem would be the power supply. The green LED only indicates that the 5V rails os working enough to power the on/off circuit on the motherboard. First disconnect everything except the mother board from power supply. Then try switching on again. If this does not work, then disconnect the power connectors from the motherboard. ON the big power connector (P1) there should be a green wire with two black wires either side. This is the power on sensor wire. Use a paper clip or similar bit if wire to short out the green wire with one of the black wires. This should start the power supply and the fan in the PSU should spin. If this does not work then the PSU is definately faulty. If it switches on when there is no load connected then it is probably only slightly faulty (not able to provide sufficient current). Since the green LED is coming on, my guess is that you have bad capacitors in the PSU (they will probably have domed tops instead of flat). Try a power supply from another PC if possible.

Is the green light on on the circuit board .if not then you might have a blown fuse ,if yes the try jumping the heat from the board it self and you do that by putting a jumper from R to W
This is where the thermostat wire is .if unit works then you have a bad thermostat
