Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

We have a Panasonic telephone system, model #KX-TGA931S. All 3 of the telephone show "new voice mail", but there aren't any voice mails on the telephones? When you press the talk button, you will hear many rapid noises before the dial tone comes on. How can we clear this message off the telephones?

All phones are different but similar...lol helpful huh? There should be only 1 of 2 ways to erase your messages. If there is an answer system, press and hold down delete(del) button. If that isn't the way, pick up 1 of the handsets,do not turn it on for calling out, just press the funtion(func)button.Use the directional pad to cycle through the options and it should get you to voicemail. Also in those options, there will be set number of rings for machine, set time, date, all kinds of stuff, you just have to play around and learn. That's how I learned mine :) Also,I wrote the abbreviations because some phones have the whole word, some don't.You probably got that.Good luck! Are you talking about a regular cordless phone system which is what I thought?I googled your model and it appeared to be(I'm pretty sure but I answer so many maybe it wasn't you sorry).i JUST GOOGLED IT,MAYBE IT WASN'T YOURS HOWEVER,I couldn't get a clear enough picture and all I found was an 'R' model instead of 'S',it looked at the top there was a menu button, that's probably it.There was also a yellow labeled button on the bottom left button surrounding the directional pad,I couldn't get it clear enough to read, but if the top what I think said menu button doesn't get you anywhere, would you please tell me what that yellow label says?aLSO i SEE IT'S A dect...NOW PHONES ARE CHANGING LIKE COMPUTERS TOO.LOLCaps stuck on again sorry. The DECT was a great buy though. Greg

Our model is an "S". There is a menu button in the middle of the top three buttons. We don't have a yellow labeled button on the telephones.

  • Greg McCarthy Aug 24, 2010

I saw yours was an S.When I googled and searched,I found R and T lol.Press the menu button and use the directional pad to cycle through the options, probably the down direction, and that should give you all kinds of stuff to set.I just don't see anything but menu as being the way to do it.Please let me know how you do with that.Good luck! Greg

I have tried using the menu button, and with the directional pad I have cycled through all of the options that I can find. I am at a loss with what to do next? Maybe, either live with the message showing on the telephones, and the telephones light blinking, or get some new telephones.

The nearest free download I could find is for a 9331,but it looks basically the same.I am giving you the link and you need Adobe. Most people have it but if you do not it is a FREE,SAFE download with no junk.Let me know if this helps. It looks like your stuff should be on page 40.You can enlarge the image at the top of the page.

Greg, I went to the link you gave me and read how to remove the message regarding new voice mail, when there isn't any voice mail. I simply had to press the "off" button and hold it down until there was a beep, then the message went away. Thanks for your help. Larry

This is probably the Voice Mail Warning Indicator
(VWMI) which alerts you to messages waiting in
your telephone services' Voice Mailbox --- this is totally
separate from the cordless phone's answering machine
and is prone to 'key on' even when you do not subscribe
the telephone services' voice mail.

You can download a copy of your phones manual from
http://www.manualslib.com/download/303942/Panasonic-Kx-Tg9331t.html
( be sure to ignore the advertising large button
"start download" and use the smaller button "download"
across the top banner "downloads" "table of contents" etc. )
then enter the security-codes & select 'download pdf'' etc.
Try the section on page 39-40 about Voice Mail Service.

To summarize, Turning VM signal detection on/off:
The default setting is "On", To turn this signal "off":

1. press [MENU] # 3 3 2
2. scroll up/down to desired choice
3. press [save] [off]
=======================
Good luck!

HOW TO LEAVE A VOICE MESSAGE ON A PANOSONIC kX-t7636

Your VM has an extension, usually 165 or 500. You forward your phone to Voice Mail by dialing *710x 500 # where x is 2 for all calls, 3 for busy, 4 for no answer or 5 for NA/Busy. I use 4.
The FWD/DND light will blink and the display will say Call FWD (condition) 500.

Now, all calls, both from the inside and outside will forward to the voice mail system.

New Voice Mail message

You received a message on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. To hear the message, dial the voicemail number provided by your service provider (in many cases, this will be your own phone number), and follow the voice instructions for listening to your messages. You need to store the voicemail access # by pressing [MENU], [#] [3],[3],[1] on the handset. To access the voicemail, press [TALK], then softkey [VM]. Depending on your service provider, you may need to clear your voice mailbox to remove the notification.

How do access my panasonic kx-tga101s voicmail ?

First of all; Do you have the user guide manual? If not you can download it for free at...www.static.tigerdirect.com/pdf/panasonic_kxtg10325_manual.pdf

This manual addresses handset kx-tga 101s.

The unit lets you know when you have new voice mail, in the following ways; "new voice mail" is displayed on the handset; The message indicator, on the handset, flashes slowly if message alert is on. In order to listen to your voice mail messages, you must dial the telephone service providers voice mail access number. If the handset still indicates messages that have been listened to turn it off by pressing and holding "CLEAR" until handset beeps.

Do you subscribe to a service package that includes voice mail? If so, to use that service turn off the answering machine; And use the instructions provided by your service provider. If you want to use the answering system, call your service provider to deactivate your voice mail service. If service provider cannot do this then set the answering system "RING COUNT" so the system answers calls before voice mail. Check with your service provider to find out what the ring count of the voice mail service is , then make the answering system ring count so it answers first.

Let me know if this answered your question.

Voice mail notification to cell phone

This is a phone system phone. What you are looking for would be a feature of your voice mail that is connected to the phone system. "Handsfree Speakerphone- 3-Line Back Lit display and 24-Line Keys. Compatible with KXTDA200 and KXTDA100 Systems. " Sounds like you either have a KX-TDA200 or KX-TDA100 phone system. Usually voice mail is an optional feature and has a separate part number. You could also have voice mail service through your phone service provider (like Verizon) Do you have any user guides for your voice mail or one for your phone that covers voice mail features? If not, the first step is to find out for sure what you have for a voice mail. If you have a working message waiting light on the phone it would be an in-house voice mail connected to the system.
