How do I light my janitrol ucs100-55 heater?

you need to turn on the gas supply. then turn the button on the valve to the "light" position. now press down that button repeatidly until the pilot light lights, when the pilot lights you will need to hold that button down for about 15 seconds. then when you release the button the pilot should stay lit. when it does... turn the button to the "RUN" position. thats it... turn up the thermostat and the heater should kick in.

Just need to know how to light the pilot on a Montgomery Ward wall furnace model sfb-50219

I can't speak to the specific model but with most pilot lights, there is a switch setting or button for lighting. If you release that switch or button too soon, the pilot will not remain light. Hold the switch or button ON while you light the pilot. Keep holding the switch or button for about a minute until the heat sensor is sufficiently warmed that the pilot light stays on. Good luck.

Have winrich perfecta ventfree lp model 6380. Very hard to start. Ignition switch never worked correctly. Pilot and ods showing corrosion. Doesn't stay lit very long. Can I replace the pilot/ods a

First clean out pilot light with can of air , or blow down it with a tude.
Then brush electrode clean with a clean paint brush ,chech to see if electrode is in the right postion to light the gas not too far away and the spark is strong , Clean thermopile head if fitted, then check thermocuople /thermopile connections are tight . see if this helps .

When I press down and turn the know the pilot lights but as soon as you let up on the knob to turn it there is a click and the pilot light goes out.. This is on my Mr. Heater Big Buddy

When the pilot lights continue holding the button down for a full minute and then release. It should stay lit then to allow you to turn it to the on position. If the pilot will not stay lit after holding it for the full minute, then the thermocouple will need to be replaced.
Hope this helps.

When turning on my deLonghi wh16lp wall heater the pilot light wil not hold no matter how long I hold itpressed in. I was advise to have a delonghi repair fix the switch. Where can I find a repair shop.

If you cannot keep pilot light lit after you release pilot button it's probably a bad thermocouple. If you feel capable of attempting repairs your self you can follow thermocouple line from gas valve to mounting postion in front of pilot light burner. both will be located inside burner compartment. The line for thermocouple will usually be mounted on bottom of gas valve on left side Standard thermocouple will be solid copper line that will screw into gas valve. Usually they will be held in position in front of pilot burner by friction fit. Carefully unscrew from gas valve and remove from pilot burner. Measure length of thermocouple and purchase one of same lenght from hardware store such as True Value. Follow instructions for reinstallation being careful not to cross thread fitting to gas valve. As always when working with gas appliances turn thermostat to lowest setting or shut off gas valve if available. If you don't feel comfortable trying this yourself you should call service company. Be careful and I hope this helps you. Thanks.

Pilot won't light

Thermocouple, if the pilot comes on while holding down the gas switch/button and goes out when you release to turn on, the thermocouple is bad.

Pilot wont light

If the pilot light goes out when you release the primer, then the thermocouple is bad.You can try to adjust the thermocouple,if it can be.It needs to be in the pilot flame. If the thermocouple is not in the flame,it will not stay lit.If you can not get the pilot to light at all, with the primer pushed down, then replace the regulator. To light the pilot light, you need to turn the dial to pilot. Then press the primer button down and hold it.The primer is either built into the turn knob,or it is a res button.Hold the primer down, and light the pilot, continue holding the primer down for at least 40 seconds. Then release the primer slowly, and if the pilot light starts to get weak, and try to go out, then push back down, and hold 30 seconds more. After the pilot stays lit, turn the knob to furnace or low,or whatever the directions say.
