Question about Yamaha RX-V557 Receiver
your receiver is having a power problem. The problem should be from the power board. A capacitor or diode may be defective on the power board, that's why your receiver is not powering on.
If you know about electronics repairs, get a meter, open the receiver and read the power board of your receiver. This will enable you detect the bad component of the power board, so that you can make every necessary replace. By so doing the receiver should power on again.
But if you don't have any idea about electronics repair, you can give to a repairman to fix it for you. At this point, you will know if the receiver is worth repairing or not.
You will have to calculate the cost of repairs with the cost of getting a new model receiver.
If the cost of repairs is high, then it will be advice-able you invest in a new model receiver.
