Same trouble, but this time I get a message about the pmc not being connected. My computer is recognizing it but the lnk to the Firmware (not offered anymore by Creatrive Labs) will not link to the unit via a docking station or usb connection. ????

Creative doesn't repair and merely tells consumers to buy a newer version. Mine is less than 3 years old and in mint condition.

The computer must have Windows Media Player 10, nothing higher or lower. You also need to uninstall Microsoft User Driver pack.

Once done the Upgrade button works.

There is a firmware upgrade for this thing - if you upgrade the firmware and I think you may well get it working again ver 1.03 is the one you want

I connect my sansa e250 into my computer and the mp3 player says connected but i see no sansa hardrive and the computer doesnt respond .

Turn Sansa off. Unplug USB and make sure its clean. Plug back in as normal. If no hardrive comes up go to My Computer and look for it and troubleshoot if necessary.

Finally, repeat this action above accept when you turn MP3 off, hold button for 15 seconds - release and then turn back on.

I have a problem with a Zen PMC 20GB. When I reset the device using the pinhole reset button, the unit goes off and then comes on with the "Creative Logo" and then it goes to a diagram screen...

Hi,

  1. Turn off your player
  2. Push the end of a pin-like object (for example, a straightened paper clip) into the reset hole, press gently and remove.
  3. Power on the player

Broke

before i had the same problem, when i thought my k5 runs out of battery i plug it in to charge, but it said charge complete and when i unplug it, it still wont turn on. but then i tried switching to a different usb plug on my computer and it worked. so i guess the problem is that some of your usb slot on your computer isnt working properly, try using a different slot.

Iriver PMC120 when connected to Vista computer by USB takes ages to do anything

I encountered the same problem that u were having after about 7 months of use of my iriver pmc. When i connected my iriver to the usb cord it showed up on my computer, therefore my computer detected it but when i wanted to open my MEDIA file it took awile and my iriver froze while trying to update. The only solution that i came up with was this: 1. You have to go to control panel. 2. Go to system icon. 3: After you click the system icon the system properties page should show up. 4: Next click on Hardware and then device manager. 5: Then u have to click on the Windows portable devices which should be on the bottom, then double-click on "iriver portable media center". 6: Now you will have to click on driver and UPDATE the driver. Unfortunately this will format your iriver but it will fix the problem. Just copy and paste all your songs back on your iriver.

     HOPE THIS HELPS

Is the adapter the correct one, maybe wrong voltage (5.0) or wrong phasing (ring is -, tip is +)

remove battery and use it off A/C power adapter, mine only works this way, maybe shorted battery.
