Sd Tech. need picture of blown flyback transformer and circuit diagram for the loewe 9303.

Thanks for the picture. My Loewe ACONDA 9303 works intermittently. It may run for a few weeks or a few hours. It pops and both picture and sound go out. I power it off and plug it in the next day and it usually starts working for various amounts of time until it pops and goes out again. I thought it might be the flyback or do you think a capacitor or something else could be the culprit? Also you mentioned a website for the circuit diagram but it was not included.

Hi, I have found you a service and repair manual at the below website, inside this manual, is ALL the necessary facts to enable you to troubleshoot and repair.
Sd Tech.

need picture of blown - a482487.gif

Above is a picture of a bad xformer...as you see they are NOT much different that a normal good one. You need to test these units with a meter or a FB tester.
Usually the "Chopper" transistor, The power transistor that"Drives" the FBT, is what fails in the Flyback circuit, and that's what we suspect most when there is NO output from the FBT.
The FBT's don't really fail that often, but they do indeed fail, one must check as said with a meter, on OHMS,and we look for shorts or usually Open circuits, The FBT is wound like an autotransformer and has a common winding, & various outputs.
In any ebvent please download your service manual and perform the troubleshooting steps in there you should be able to sort iot no problem.
Another thing to look for is shorted ceramic caps in the various outputs from thre FBT.

Loewe aco9383 sound comes through but there is no picture. Any suggestions?

If that is a CRT tube screen television, there is no ballast. The set uses high voltage from a flyback transformer, a high voltage diode and a horizontal output transistor. Any of those could cause your picture to fail if they go bad. Or it could be the picture tube itself.

When you turn the tv on, it lights green and tries to turn on, but does not. The green and red (on/off) lights are on simultaneouly, and every few seconds youcan hear it try to come on.

I repaired a lot of these sets when they were new and under warranty.

The most likely reason for 'shutdown" which is what you are describing, is one of two parts.

The "Flyback" or High voltage transformer in these sets fails; usually with back off when you try to turn set on you see a little arc at top of high voltage transformer---means it is bad-----so common I have literally replaced dozens of them.

The second common (not as common as the transformer) reason is there are a number of special capacitors right around the same area as the transformer; they do not short or burn---they open like the filament in a old style light bulb----a little tricky to find but not expensive.

The Flyback transformer is black with a large red wire coming out of the top that goes into the picture tube; part may be found on internet for approx 50 dollars or Loewe parts center for 75 plus.

Everything about these sets was expensive; I still have 3 brand new remotes for them--wholesale on them about 85 dollars.

SD Tech, I saw your posts on Loewe Acondas shutting off right after powering on. I have had mine since 2002, purchased it in SD but I live in Park City UT now. This is a TV in my kids family room now and...

depends on several things, flatscreen sets do not have as long a life, 8 years would be unusual for one of them.

if the power light comes on then goes from green to red it may be the high voltage transformer; a issue common on these sets and easy to check out.

One thing will be when you turn it on you may hear a brief arc or squeek, I usually remove the back cover---the high voltage transformer or flyback as it is also called is the large black part on the right as you look from the back, it has a large red wire that goes up to the bell of the picture tube.

Take a close look where the iron core (its not iron but a ferrile material.)

Try to turn set on with back off, be watching flyback, if you see a momentary spark or arc from the core of it, it is your problem; soldered in but not hard to get at and only about 10 solder connections to deal with, Part number (transformer is black in color) is in white right on the part, google it and if it is bad available for under 60 dollars.

These sets have a few problems but this is by far the most common. I used to do factory repairs and actually have 3 new remotes for them(a little hard to find and expensive if you do).

The arc will only happen for a moment if it is the trouble, you have to be watching when you turn it on.

When I push the power button on the red light turn on and then I use the remote to turn the tv on the green light turn on and then it clicks off the screen stays black it just clicks off when I try to turn...

I know these sets, did a lot of work on them when new and under extended warranty.

Two common problems:

With the back off look at the black transformer to the right with a big red wire that goes up to the bell of the picture tube: lots of these will arc at the top left side of the part--if you turn the set on and see a brief spark there the Flyback transformer is bad.

These are quite affordable and fairly easy to replace.

The second problem they have is there are about a dozen brown caps in front of the Flyback and one of them "opens" not a short but if it opens voltage etc go up and set shuts down.

8 out of ten times it is the Flyback.

Look closely at the white label on the left side of the flyback--the part number is there!

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

I have not seen many of these sets lately but still have the 3 new remotes my shop gave me.

My R52WH74YX66 HDTV shows in 3D and double vision

This is a common problem in these sets; if the set does not show "convergence" in the customer menu there are three pico type fuses on the deflection board and one is blown.

To be perfectly honest most shops do not like to fix this brand of set as the convergence circuit is spread across 3 circuit boards that are not available--all parts of course are RCA only and delays to get parts needed are common here.

Look in the customer menu and if convergence does not show, one of the protect fuses (really labeled as a "coil" is bad---these are usually located next to the High Voltage transformer and are usually tan in color about the size of a one watt resistor.

Let me know if you have questions as I am here to help.

Problem

There is no "Flyback transformer" in the LCD monitor "Benq 17" model No. Q7T3". Such a component, a "Flyback transformer" is found in televisions and in Picture Tube type monitors. The red wire of a "Flyback transformer" is where 27,000 VOLTS comes out of to connect to the picture and such a voltage IS DEADLY so never enter a TV or computer monitor unless you know exactly what you're doing. To bring your hand too close to the "Flyback transformer" is to GET ZAPPED, you don't even have to TOUCH that transformer or the Red Wire that comes out of it!!!!

As far as a fuse blowing, NEVER PUT IN A FUSE WITH A HIGHER AMPERAGE RATING: it's there to protect certain components from being permanently damaged. If the fuse is blowing you must find out "why". There's got to be a short circuit in one or more components. Transistors, Diodes and Capacitors are easy to check for shorts. Transistors, Diodes are usually what short out. There's not much more I can say here.

A schematic diagram that shows the voltage on the many components of a running LCD circuit is what you need to find out where volatges should be. If a voltage is missing you must find out where the problem stems from. There are other ways to test circuitry, with an oscillascope and a schematic diagram that shows test points and the wave pattern that's suppose to be present.
